The brunette at the center of Eliot Spitzer's spectacular downfall is a 22-year-old runaway from the Jersey Shore who came to the city to be a singer and ended up toppling a governor.

The stunning revelation came on a day of high drama that began with Spitzer's resignation and ended with the confession from sexy Ashley Alexandra Dupré, who is just four years older than Spitzer's eldest daughter.

"I just don't want to be thought of as a monster," said Dupré, who was born Ashley Youmans and raised in Belmar, N.J.

He could have had a prettier Goomar for a measley fur coat and some lame jewelry from Kay’s.

The trouble with that is that you're likely as not to end up with a stalker when all's said and done.

Note that Spitzer's topple is portrayed as her fault - she's described as the one doing the toppling, as opposed to Spitzer's own hubris and stupidity.

Is the convenience store guy responsible for the smoking habits of his customers? Is the fact that his customers smoke somehow his fault?

But, what do you expect from the media.

Yea... I know... she’ll probably get immunity in exchange for her testimony, in addition to a whole load of cash contracts in many forms for her story. I have mixed feelings about that. She got herself into it, for sure ... could have said no... and her activity was certainly not proper in any way... so I believe she should pay some consequences. However, I can’t help but think that she was enticed by super-strong forces, including the high amount of cash she was paid by Spitzer and others.

I mostly hope she can find peace with herself and forgiveness before The Lord, as I’m concerned she may do herself harm in some way or another, even if she becomes rich and famous from this. We don’t need any more beautiful suicides or mental cases. But rewarding the behavior instead can result in even more children (yes, I consider her a child) being harmed by following her example, and that WOULD result in more beautiful suicides and mental cases.

Probably just the kind of Jersey Skank who used to laugh at Elliot for the geeky putz that he was as a teenager. Freud would have a field day analyzing this.

I imagine she'll be paid off in some undetectable form by the super-rich Spitzer family to keep her mouth shut about the intimate details of their encounter(s).

"Proper?"

She's going to be facing "consequences" in the form of criminal charges because her choice of business endeavor is sinful.

Prostitution is legal, taxed, and regulated in the interests of public health in Nevada, did you know that?

To all the guys saying they’ve had better (yeah, right!), or she’s not that attractive, etc... Good grief! I will never, ever understand men and their preferences for women.

She has a great figure, beautiful skin, nice features. What the heck is wrong with her appearance? I think she’s very pretty. She’s a skank because of her “occupation”, make no mistake, but very pretty.

Actually, I suspect that the most important things will come out in court: that she traveled to DC, on Spitzer’s dime, and how the pimps worked her. She may spill other Emperor’s Club hookers’ names, depending on how talkative Spitz was. I really don’t care whether the “intimate details”, as you delicately put it, ever become public, and I’m not enough of a legal beagle to have any idea whether the prosecution (or defense) would ever decide to ask that in a way it becomes part of the public record, in this case. Certainly, Spitzer has the dough to influence that, but I would have to be convinced that a payoff would be necessary to assure it.

Certainly, his daughters don’t need to know it... however, events may make that inevitable, or they may not. Only time will tell, I guess.

My own experience growing up on Lawn Guyland and then finishing my teen years in South Florida is that American chosen people have their positives and negatives, like everyone else. I never understood why folks would whine and b-tch (NOT talking about you here txflake, just acquaitances of mine) about the negatives, when there OWN race/ethnicities had some rather annoying qualities as well.

All of these guys who think Ashley is "hot" should come to Lawn Guyland or New Jersey sometime. Gals like this are a dime a dozen.

Wardaddy, since we are playing the "guess her ethnicity" game, I would guess that she is a "mischling", aka mixed like my brother in law.

I was born in Port Jefferson, Long Island, and lived in Farmingville, Medford, and Selden. I agree.

I typically make an effort on FR to understate the way I feel and think about a subject. Perhaps that information explains my post better.

I know it's legal in NV. I don't believe it ought to be, partly for reasons supported in my post #40 here:

It’s the all too common story of a runaway turning to prostitution. Somehow she ended up on the Park Avenue side instead of the street side of it.

I agree with you, there are probably some strong and even sinister forces that influenced her.

So you’re using a single example from the mafia-controlled, pimp-managed illegal prostitution underworld as an example against lawful, regulated prostitution in Nevada?

That’s the same tactic that the anti-gunners use, pointing to a single nutcase who happens to use a gun to commit mass murder as a reason to ban guns.

And what's with her forehead? Pea-sized brain?

I agree with you, there are probably some strong and even sinister forces that influenced her.

"The poor stupid helpless defenseless 22-year-old little girl must be protected from her own choices for her own good," right?

"Now why is it that man can hold woman to this high code of morals, like Caesar's wife - not only pure but above suspicion - and so surely and severely punish her for every departure, while she is so helpless, so powerless to check him in his license, or to extricate herself from his presence and control? His power grows out of his right over her subsistence. Her lack of power grows out of her dependence on him for her food, her clothes, her shelter."
-- Susan B. Anthony, 1875.

Ugh, she’s got awful hands.

Her fingernails are short. There's a reason. Can't elaborate.

No such word. The word that was slaughtered on that show is "Goomada." The producers mistook the 'ada' sound for a rolled 'r.'

As I recall it, the term is actually goomba which is an Italian slang term for a good friend:
