Dr Kevorkian, who spent more than eight years in jail for the murder of a man whose videotaped assisted suicide was aired on national television, claims he actively helped 130 people die.

Well, he totes the credentials required to be a spokesman of the people. /s

Do time, then run for office!

I can honestly say that I don't believe that he would run on a conservative platform.

Is a felon allowed to do that?

I suspect we have at least one confirmed and one potential felon running for President as Dems.

Why not one who has already served time in the slammer???

Independence Party? Who runs that outfit?

Right on! Let’s clean up those MEDICAID,welfare and aids rolls while we are on the subject and shouldn’t those pesky illegals be building that imaginary political fence?

Dr Kevorkian forced the United States to confront the ethical issues surrounding how best to treat the pain and suffering of the terminally ill when he went public with his suicide machines in 1990 and the videos of his patients begging him to help them die.

Now there is an acceptance statement for Dr. Death if he were to achieve elective office.

He told the Oakland Press that he will run as an independent in the 9th Congressional district.

After turning down lucrative offers from other political party's I'm sure. /s

When I first saw this I though “Dr. Death” Steve Williams the wrestler was running for congress.

Kevorkian ping...

I thought he was released from finishing his sentence early because he was so terribly ill it would be unthinkably cruel to keep this old, feeble, dying man in prison (pundit’s description, not mine! We all knew it was a crock of steaming excrement at the time) for the rest of his well-earned sentence. Now he’s well enough to run for Congress?

If he’s well enough to run for Congress, and to run around the country giving speeches, he’s well enough to finish serving his prison sentence.

If I were Senator Byrd, I’d be real nervous about having this guy sitting next to me.

Who should the 79 year-old, frail Kevorkian be seated next to?

I would suggest an undertaker with a first-baseman's mitt.

Agents of Choice actively help about 1,000,000 die yearly before they ever get a chance to BE a 'people'.

Is this a great country or what!

Is a felon allowed to do that?

Is perjury (wjc) a felony?

I don’t think he’ll win, but people in MI have been known to do bizarre things politically. Personally, though MI people seem sensible on the surface.

“Is a felon allowed to do that?”

As a Democrat, yes.
An impeached Judge is in Congress - Alcee Hastings.
A democrat, of course.
