Former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro today defended a remark she made to the Daily Breeze last week, in which she suggested that Sen. Barack Obama would not be where he is if he were white.
In an interview with the Breeze, Ferraro said, "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color), he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."
The comment was picked up by political blogs and cable news shows across the country. The Obama campaign held a conference call today to denounce the remark, and Obama surrogates urged Sen. Hillary Clinton to repudiate it. (SNIP_ But far from backing off from her initial remark, Ferraro defended it and elaborated on it.
"Any time anybody does anything that in any way pulls this campaign down and says let's address reality and the problems we're facing in this world, you're accused of being racist, so you have to shut up," Ferraro said. "Racism works in two different directions. I really think they're attacking me because I'm white. How's that?"

Another Heaven sent problem for the RATS. It’s always such fun to watch when they eat their own. Get your popcorn ready folks, in the next few months we could witness a real blood bath and hopefully, the meltdown of the RAT party. :o)
Barry Hussein, she’s just telling you you aren’t qualified for the job.
Because “the time has come for a ‘black’ president”, you are the lucky dude. But you are still unqualified. Nothing personal, nothing racial. Unless you NEED it to be racial.
Nice job, Geraldine.
Mr.McCain was’nt even on my list,I’m glad it’s over , I see those folks so arrogant that they will not vote for someone they have’nt supported from day 1.
The FUN part is the Left really has no idea which way to jump on this.
If they cry Racism, they play into Clinton’s hands.
If they let it go, they let the image stand.
LOSE/LOSE for them, WIN/WIN for us!
He pulled a Ross Perot? LOL
Aww. If feminism meant more than aborting babies maybe people would care.
McCain will have trouble saying anything, true or false, against Obama. It will be said to be racist, regardless of the nature of the comments.
Slightly OT - I just heard Obama on Fox - talking about “If you want change that’s real change and change you can believe in, I’m the one.” He is TOTALLY an empty suit and only the dems would be so damn dumb they can’t see it.
McCain is going to go apoplectic when he hears this one by Ferraro....bwahahaha!!!
If Obama were a woman of whatever color, he wouldn't be in this position......
But if he was the spouse of an impeached ex-President....Well then!!!!
What a dim bulb Fararro is. Hillary is where she is because she is a woman. Even worse, she is a woman who got where she is because of who she married, not because of anything exceptional within herself. To pull out the Identity Politics issue when defending Hillary and attacking Obama is beyond stupid. Hello Kettle, This is the Pot.....You wouldn't be a Kettle if you were not BLACK!
Way to go Ferraro!
It’s great the liberals are at each other’s throats.
I’ll say this much: This is precisely why I believe Obama would be more dangerous than Hillary. All Obama would do if Republicans opposed his socialism is cry racism.
“They’re against me ‘cause I’m black” and the Republicans will cave every time. That’s my concern.
except when she plays the gender card.
Hypocrites on both sides
McCain should say, “No, if you want change, I’M the one.” If Obama says, what change, McCain says, you go first.
Geraldine, didn’t you know that telling the truth on this subject was not allowed? NO truth telling about all the white guilt and black bloc votes that have put Obama in the position he now enjoys.
Geraldine Ferraro is my new hero!
Talking truth about racism and Barak YouOweMeAnApology Obama!
I don't think very much of him, either.
I'll stop capitalizing his name, just like you.
