Agreed, and the ones who protect the program from the likes of the ACLU need promotions as well :-)
(since when was it the purview of the ACLU to insert itself into ongoing programs that are not under litigation and there is no aggrieved party? Nobody's civil rights are being violated through these trips.....they are overreaching again....just as they do when they insist that towns have to remove religious symbols from public places that have been there for sixty years.)
I went to a Catholic H.S. in NYC in the 60s so I can’t say. About all of my friends who went to public H.S. were drop outs.
“Also, many of the schools still have apartments in the basement where the janitor lived those coal burners needed to be stoked 24/7.”
OMG, it’s late, I’m sleepy and read this sentence completely wrong. Oy.
Depends on the service, etc. A really smart guy who goes into military service will rise to the top the same as a really smart guy who goes into other fields. Likewise, a screw-up will get booted out.
LOL, I LOVE it!!!
"snicker"
The standard keyboard shipping with all of the new Dell Yiddish models :-)
You know I think I remember this being the case in a limited way. They used to conduct matches just like a regular sport. My high school did not, and when you say you graduated high school in the 60’s you have the excuse of loss of memory.
This isn’t anything new. We did this this kind of thing in Navy recruiting twenty years ago. They actually flew a group of teachers out to the USS Lexington in the Gulf of Mexico.
Nothing is stopping the other services from doing the same thing.
B)Its limited to a specific urban area.
This is done at both, San Diego and Parris Island, Depots and involves educators from across the United States.
Educator season begins on depot
Western NY, Northern Pa. Educators transformed during workshop
Teachers from 8th Marine Corps District go to class
Teaching the ways of the Corps
Too bad my Drill Instructors aren’t around to nursmaid this bunch of ****. Too bad they won’t hear the speach about having 12 weeks to undo all the harm of 18 years.
Sigh.
It’s a start. Far better than nothing.

Won't ever NEED this myself...THIS teacher SERVED his country honorably...;-)
Boy, wouldn’t ya love to get AARs on all the school systems who send maggots thru boot camp?
Here’s a good article about the old marksmanship programs in Illinois schools, with some references to NY.

I remember when I was about 9 years old, the local YMCA had an indoor shooting range. When I was maybe 14, my brother and I carried our .22 rifles on board an airplane, as unaccompanied minors. No big deal back then.
Thanks for the info on NY and IL shooting programs...
and a ping.
Of course the NY “civil liberties” union is against it.
Or Secretary of the Navy & NCIS aka Winter's Wankers...
This sounds good to this Marine.
