The kids took me to a restaurant that my mother used to waitress in back in the very early 60’s after we first moved to Kalifornia when I was just a baby...

When I told them that I lived there as a small baby, they thought I was fibbing. I had to tell the whole story for them.

We had the House cut Prime Rib(20 oz) with all the trimmings.

Just when I was ready to leave, the waitress showed up with a 4 layer German Chocolate Cake!

It was Great Food and an outstanding evening!

I took the grandbabies outside before we left...and taught them all how to salute the flag, and the oldest, recited the “Pledge Of Allegience” for us all. He just learned it in kindergarten.

What a wonderful birthday dinner, and some history to go with it. And what a good Grumpa you are, teaching the grandbabies such good lessons about our flag. A ((HUG)) for the oldest for being able to recite the Pledge.

Hi Grumpa's grandbabies...

Sounds like you had a grand evening.

Blessings on you and the grandkids. Teaching them how to salute the flag is important. I think it’s optional in schools these days.

Nothing like a German Chocolate cake..

.First cake I ever baked..
