IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!!!!!!
You stole my line. That’s exactly what I thought when I saw that. Later in the article it points out that this soldier was kicked out of the army for punching a Sgt. in the face. People who knew him say he was a bully. Of course one person said he was a nice guy because he would say hi to people at Walmart. He sounds like a real dirt-bag.
What a shock. He was a POS in the Army, too.
Boo frickin hoo.
Funny. I have five good friends that are Viet Nam vets. None of them have murdered me or anyone else lately...and all saw some serious combat in two or more tours.
My cousin, and kids of four other friends, plus many ex-co-workers have been in Iraq 2, 3, 4, even 6 tours...no homicides there, either.
*SHRUG*
This guy was a little “off” to begin with, most likely. And having out-processed a few thousand soldiers myself over the span of my military career, believe me, EVERY soldier knows where to go to get the help they need. And EVERY combat soldier has a network of people pulling for him/her and keeping tabs on them post-discharge...they’re not just shown the door.
But, she’s his Mom. Of course she needs to blame someone/something other than her son FOR HIS ACTIONS.
One neighbor who grew up with Lockhart told the AJC he was a troublemaker who liked to pick on younger boys. But another said Lockhart seemed like a good kid who mowed his family's lawn and always said hello to her at Wal-Mart.
"That's crazy," said another neighbor, Thomas Moore, 19, who said Lockhart bullied him as a youngster, too. "I wouldn't have believed that."
Many a gang mom has said “he was a good boy” right after they killed someone. Now some gang moms say he was a good boy until he went to Iraq. Many gang members who served will still have a gang mentality after they are discharged. PTSD doesn’t cause killers. Killers with PTSD will kill.
Vietnam changed me but I didn't kill anyone..
Hours before Lockhart arrest, an elderly woman was robbed and carjacked at a Wal-Mart in Newnan, about 35 miles southwest of Atlanta, on Friday morning. Newnan police reportedly issued a lookout for Lockhart's vehicle
and may face additional charges in several robberies -- including the one at the Newnan Wal-Mart.
Just my 2 cents' worth.
Mama making excuses for her piece of trash thug son. I’m so surprised. /s
Newnan police said 72-year-old Marjorie Llewellyn of Newnan was pistol-whipped and briefly kidnapped at gunpoint during an armed robbery and attempted carjacking earlier in the day
Lockhart later confessed to other robberies in the area, Lewis said.
records show he served time in jail at Lee County in 2002 for harassment
Lockhart was arrested late Friday morning after he led Phenix City police on a high-speed chase.
For most of the 70's and even into the early 80's all we saw reported was "Vietnam Vet Robs Bank;" "Vietnam Vet Rapes Young Girl;" "Vietnam Vet Arrested for Selling Drugs:" Vietnam Vet this and Vietnam Vet that.
I did some research at the time and through old newspaper, could not find any such association for either Korean War Veterans and especially, WWII as well.
Of course we have John "The Snake" Kerry to thank for the extreme negative image we had to live with.
As it worked so well once and as the far-left, hate-America, anti-war crowd know this, (coupled with a corrupt media who are in bed with the former) count on this becoming the norm.
As for me, I want to see his records.
Courtney Lockhart
Catherine Williams, the mother of suspect Courtney Lockhart, made the apology to Lauren Burk's family in an interview with Columbus, Ga., television station WTVM.
But she also said her son did not confess anything to her.
She had him longer than the Army.
He was thug before Iraq, and he’s still a thug. I hope his worthless a$$ gets the needle or the chair.
Hmmm, I didn’t see anything about a father for this thug. I believe mama was the ultimate culprit. She raised a bully she couldn’t contol and all of the sudden he was a nice kid after he murders and robs.
How do we even know this jerk ever saw COMBAT ???
I'd be surprised if the Army let this Lockhart get anywhere near weapons. More likely he served as a supply clerk or truck driver.
I'm also surprised at all the people here ready to jump on the "PTSD" bandwagon.
Is this one of those situations you were just trying to explain to me, where he couldn’t help but crack under the pressure, because soldiers have it so rough? What was it you called that, basic psychology 101?
This guy must have missed the PTS rehab you said our soldiers have to go through before they can return home. Or maybe it just wasn’t enough for such an extreme case.
Shed some light on this, for all us ignorant saps who don’t believe our soldiers are all a bunch of nutcases.
-punched an NCO (and got a dishonorable discharge out of it)
-kind of weird in school
-his mom named him Courtney
This kid shouldn’t have been allowed in the military!
