McCain, Republicans, and "Global Warming"
town hall ^ | 3/9/08 | Austin Hill

Think you can sidestep the issue of “global warming,” simply by voting Republican?

Think again. Now that Senator John McCain is officially the Republican nominee for President, global warming is, whether anyone likes it or not, an “issue” for both of our nation’s dominant political parties. McCain has been gravitating towards this issue for several years, and made his mark with it during his chairing of the U.S. Senate hearings on global warming back in 2004

Thanks ... I’m so disillusioned by the GOP and idiots like McCain. I’ll read through the site.

“And yet there are many Republicans who think there’s a difference between McCain and either Hillary or Obama.”

There is so little difference is hardly worth discussing.

I have NEVER been so frustrated with the GOP.

They won't think about it. The drones have made up their minds.

McCain is the nominee for the GOP.

That is OFFICIAL.

Global Warming socialism is the most dangerous and important issue of our time - more dangerous than the WOT because of the way it can be soft pedaled. It has the potential to rob us of more treasure and freedom than the global jihad.

John McCain seems to be no different than the most far left Rat on this issue. We are in for a rough ride.

Forget the “red scare”. The new “red” is the “green”.

We are just ramping it up. Several of us decided to do something at CPAC. After hearing Newt, George Will, and John Bolton tell us that we had to vote for McCain because he won “fair and square,” we decided that we would not hold our nose and vote for McCain. And we won’t.

I just saw Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, often mentioned as a potential McCain VP choice, in a TV add telling us to "turn down the thermosat a few degrees, turn off your computer at night and make fewer trips to the store in the car"

Shades of Jimmy Carter - Yikes.

>>>And we won’t.<<<

That will essentially be a vote to sabotage our troops effort thusfar in Iraq.

It’s not easy for Conservatives to keep up with the avant-garde, but Global Warming is yesterday’s news and the cutting edge is back in ‘air pollution,’ which includes greenhouse gases now as pollutants and does not bode well for China and India and your woodstove.

Exactly. I’m tired of telling the GOP that the liberalism they hide under the name “moderate” or “compassionate conservatism” is a-ok. I’m tired of holding my nose or voting for the ‘lesser of two evils’.

Principles, dang it. What happend to principles? When did we start settling for this wishy-washy conservative mediocrity?

And what’s the response from Republicans? “Suck it up”, or “Deal with it, he’s the nominee”. No way. I’m pushing back.

“McCain is the nominee for the GOP.

I know, and it saddens me. In November I will be voting AGAINST the DEM Presidential candidate and FOR the REP Vice Presidential candidate. I just hope the GOP VP candidate is Fred or Mitt. Then if four years we can get rid of McCain.

When’s the last time a Demoncrat compromised on liberalism and not tarred and feathered?

Lieberman?

Zell Miller?

They OUT those that buck their screwed up views and beliefs. The GOP constantly wants to bend YOU to the LEFT instead of bending others to the RIGHT.

If McCain should win, and the Democrats pick up more seats in Congress, do you really think they will let the war go on as is?

I doubt it, they will vote to defund the war and McLame and the GOP will have a loss pinned on their sleeve.
