Re: McCain is a slime.

Yeah, he’s a real slime for adopting needy children from third-world countries.

GET A CLUE!

While at Mother Teresa’s orphanage in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1991 — as part of AVMT’s assistance team following the 1991 Bangladesh cyclone[19] — she met two infant girls she decided needed to be brought to the United States for medical treatment.[1] She decided to adopt one of the girls (her husband readily agreeing), later named Bridget[4] (who became the McCains’ fourth child together), and helped coordinate the adoption of the other little girl, named Mickey, for Wes Gullett, a family friend.

Why are you advancing the opinion of the NYTimes?

What is that they’re on, a Trailways bus? That thing is tighter than pair of Oprah’s tighty-whiteys.

I’m cracking up at the fellow below his right underarm.

Okay, I have already covered this, but here we go again: It is MY opinion. I heard the interview and McCain sounded upset (annoyed, disgusted, etc.) by the persistent questioning. That is NOT a bad thing. Showing toughness with the media is good. I stand by it...he was UPSET. I didn't say he was throwing a temper tantrum.

Wow.

...whackjob told me to get out of the US.

Oh, yeah. I seem to recall something she posted about wanting to revoke citizenship of those who don't want to support McCain.
I really did think they had already been banned. Perhaps a week or two of counseling will prove successful. ;-)

John Kerry: I don't know all the details of it. I know that Tom, from a conversation with him, was in conversation with a number of Republicans back then. It doesn't surprise me completely because his people similarly approached me to engage in a discussion about his potentially being on the ticket as Vice President. So his people were active -- let's put it that way. From:http://www.mydd.com/story/2007/4/3/11936/97033

“He is, as he describes himself, a liberal Democrat,’’ Mr. McCain said, adding that he meant no offense by the term. “I am a conservative Republican. So when I was approached, when we had that conversation back in 2004, that’s why I never even considered such a thing.’’

“Everybody knows I had a conversation,’’ he angrily told this reporter as his plane headed from Atlanta to New Orleans. “Everybody knows that, that I had a conversation. There’s no living American in Washington, there’s no one, and you know it, too. You know it. You know it. So I don’t even know why you asked.’’

I can be upset and retain my cool. My demeanor changes to being stern. I heard the interview on Hannity. It's not a big deal. Yikes, this reminds me of the Obama/Hillary debate with "denounce and reject." Upset, bothered, annoyed, disturbed, disgusted, happy, gleeful, elated, overjoyed...whatever. Pick your own word.

I have NO agenda.

I’ve watched it a few times now. In the beginning he was visibly annoyed (what I call upset) at the queston. And rightly so. He interrupted her and kinda shook his hands in her direction. His body language and his repeating statements show that. Towards the end, he pulled his stern demeanor back and just blew her off. He smiled or laughed. Her question, “Why are you so angry? Nevermind” was a clear attempt to further goad him. McCain did well with her. I think the question upset him based on his initial response, but he handled the whole thing well.

If that is not CLEAR AGENDA then I don’t know what is. That * wanted the word “ANGRY” become part of the discussion, if not worse.

Dead on right.

org.whodat: "If you don't know about all of insane’s personal attacks on people and his blowing his fuse. The question is have you been trapped in a time distortion.

Actually I think I have read the remarks to which you refer once, twice.. ;)

calcowgirl: "Your link for that remark is www.friendsofliberty.com That same list is posted all over the net.

Org. whodat: You, who carries anger in a lot of your posts especially towards me in other posts/story lines recently (outside of today) is calling McCain angry when you have a habit of using personal "hit comments" against those respectfully taking on any debate with you? I show you respect and would hope I would deserve the same. You never give examples, just attack. Calcowgirl gave a reference for actual debate.

Many individuals that calcowgirl did mention have now endorsed McCain for President, so they must not worry about "his temper" as does the media and others who just do not like McCain (I wish the Repubs had a diff candidate, but is what we got).

Sen. John Cornyn (McCain had told Cornyn he had always been against this bill, and was always trying to derail it, so they disagreed on that note alone); but Cornyn, who called him hot headed, has backed him anyway. By the way, the chicken remark phrase was offered by a McCain ally in the room and that McCain never told Cornyn he knew more about the legislation than anyone else in the room." Media misreported.

Sen. Pete Domenici has recently backed McCain, the Bush family have endorsed McCain-are they worried? Must be like when you vote for a war, but are against it scenario?

Now Strom Thurmond is a whole other kinda "byrd" who had a history of being rude, derogatory and obnoxious with whom he disagreed. He had received more tempered "words" over the years than just from McCain. Remember Thurmond had tormented Thurgood Marshall, first black justice of the Supreme Court in 1967, at the confirmation hearing by asking 60 ar"cane" legal questions. Thurmond was also famous with the ladies on the Hill for his "predatory hands". As you get more senile on the Hill, you can get away with a lot more. Longevity has its perks.

Grassley made the media recently for going after popular TV Evangelists (you made note of McCain and religious leaders) on how they spend their money contributed to their ministries and which still are. So far no wrong doing has been disclosed by Grassley of those he singled out-which was just about anyone who is anyone. Just some did not like the houses they lived in, furniture they owned or cars they drove.

Grassley, had acknowledged the feud (POW traitor remark) back in the early 90's and said: "We didn't speak for a couple of years. Then, one time, he came up to me and said, 'Chuck, we need to talk,' and we have had friendly conversations ever since."..Despite the past tensions and the disagreement over ethanol, Grassley said he has deep respect for McCain's military background..."I might have concerns [about McCain] but as I look at five [Republicans] still running for president, even though McCain and I have disagreements ... McCain is the most qualified to be president," Grassley said, while stressing he was not making an endorsement. "I say that because I know him."

Calcowgirl intelligently offered up some examples of McCain showing over the top verbal fisticuffs with those facing differences of opinion on various issues. This is an issue that McCain does face causing concern by many, some call it temper, some may call it passion. McCain has always been frustrated by those that have never experienced atrocities in the world up close and personal, but safely played politics in the safety of their Washingtonprivate offices with staff to cater to their every whim. Armchair generals vs Action generals is an example. Those bleeped F words, not foreign to any language, are used, everyday on the Hill, behind closed doors, especially, open air remarks often sort after by media for a story, when anything of substance has failed..I believe the President has slipped once or twice ;)

University professor James Thurber said: "Senator McCain can be a little prickly because sometimes he has truth, and when you have truth, you push something very hard until your colleagues get a little tired of hearing it and you don't have the votes." McCain pushes for the votes on issues he holds close to him. I can agree and disagree. However, Obama often politically has ridden the fence. An example of just voting "present" when holding office in Illinois(once my state of residency).

John Kerry, who's relationship with McCain has not been approved of by some on the Right has said: "Lots of presidents have a temper and often Congress needs a swift kick."

Sally Quinn once said McCain could anger some one day and work with them on another...."I mean, he's an extremely likable person, and he's very admirable in many ways. One is that he says what he believes and he will cross the party line whenever he thinks that the Republicans are not on the right track."

You can like the guy or not like the guy, the remarks go back over decades. There are remarks in my life I wish I could take back, not as public, but were out of line. But human is as human does. You do the best you can with what you got to work with. Sometimes politics, religion and abortion don't make for fun conversation at parties. We definitely know why.

I think, however, we might all be right in one way or the other.

Thanks
FTD

Re: GET A CLUE!

Maybe it is you that needs to GET A CLUE! He dumped his first wife when she was in her hospital bed.

Before John McCain's tour of duty in Vietnam, he married Carol Shepp, a model from Philadelphia. On his 23rd bombing mission over North Vietnam in 1967, McCain was shot down and captured.

While he was imprisoned, Carol was in an auto wreck (1969), thrown through her car's windshield and left seriously injured. Despite her injures, she refused to allow her POW husband to be notified about her condition, fearing that such news would not be good for him while he was being held prisoner.

While still married to Carol, McCain began an adulterous relationship with Cindy. He married Cindy in May 1980 -- just a month after dumping Carol and securing a divorce. The newlyweds honeymooned in Hawaii.

He is a scumbag backstabber, amnesty loving, global warming, anti tax cut, Ted Kennedy loving fool.

And his best man was Bill Cohen (who later became Clinton's SecDef) and his groomsmen included Gary Hart.

I can identify with McCain... The reporter was trying to F___ with him. He tried to treat her nicely despite her agenda. She kept it up. A little flash and a cold blue stare should have been enough. He was just politely tell her she was a Clymer (He worked for the NYT too, I believe).

McCain is a self-serving liar and a backstabber.

I sure like the way he cut down this snotty NY Slimes' reportrette all the way down to her shoe soles, especially after the NYSlimes has "endorsed." him!!!

He is NOT my cup of tea either, but that is what we are stuck with. You always have the options to vote for obamaman or killary???
