WASHINGTON - A law enforcement official says police are investigating letters sent to Capitol Hill offices showing pictures of a Times Square military recruiting station that was bombed.
According to the official, who was briefed on the investigation, the letters included words to the effect of, "We did it." The official did not know which offices received the letters.
The small bomb caused minor damage to the New York military recruiting station before dawn Thursday and police were searching for a hooded bicyclist seen on a surveillance video peddling away.
From Politico:
UPDATE 4: This message was just sent to all congressional offices by the Capitol Police:
“Attention All Members of the Congressional Community
Within the past twenty-four hours, a number of letters have begun arriving at various Congressional Offices on Capitol Hill. The letters contain a reference to the military recruiting office in New York City. At this time, none of the letters received, have contained any threat to the Congressional Community or Members of Congress.
All of the letters have properly passed through Congressional mail security screening procedures before arriving at various Congressional Offices and have been determined to be safe.
These letters can be identified in the following manner:
* All envelopes received have all been manila in color and are approximately five inches by eight inches in size.
* All envelopes have two (one dollar) stamps affixed to them and a white label with a return address.
The United States Capitol Police want to preserve any possible evidence. Therefore, in the event that any envelopes arrive at your Congressional Office, please respond in the following manner:
1. Do not attempt to open the envelope.
2. Immediately contact the USCP Command Center at 22X-XXXX
The Command Center will have an officer dispatched to your office to take possession of the letter. Because this is an ongoing criminal investigation, please do not forward this email or release information outside your immediate office.”
FOLKS THIS IS A LIE! SENATOR FEINSTEIN SENT OUT HER MEMO THURSDAY..SO THE LETTERS WERE ARRIVING LAST WEEK!! NOT IN THE LAST 24 HOURS LIKE THIS LETTER SAYS!!!
Was it this guy?
I think Boazo has a better shot of him.
;-)
Here is the prime suspect if you ask me.
On February 15th 2008, the leftist terrorist group called The Student Democrat Society(SDS) took it upon themselves to attack the Armed Forces Recruiting Station at 13th and L Streets N.W. at 18:00(6 p.m.).
The violent leftists terrorists entered the recruiting station and proceed to trash the place of their own free accord as DC Police simply stoodby and did nothing about it. The terrorists took joy in reporting and recording their terrorist actions
(http://dc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/142455/index.php).
This is the second time that DC Police have stoodby as the terrorists who call themselves the SDS have runamuck in the city, this past summer they tore thru the Georgetown Area of the city hurling bricks at innocent bystanders as the police seemed powerless to stop them.
The SDS has a history of violent actions against men and women in uniform and those citizens who speak out against them and are only enbittered because the surge has worked and victory for American is close at hand. SDS and their allies are nothing more than homegrown terrorists and failed socialists who are the bottom of society!
Fits the description!
The eight Democrats sent the letters? That is really weird.
no, they were sent the letter, (ie they received them)
Thanks for the pics!!
The upcoming demonstrations, on March 12, are to be focused on members of Congress.
I’m guessing that this terror bombing was done in the name of nonviolent protest.
What a great visual....and a perfect suspect...hmmmmm....maybe...
Sorry about the format.

Hangon a minute... an earlier report said the letters were postmarked (or was it dated?) February 28th. You need to remember that all mail going to the Hill now must pass through a screening process, which can take a week.
Now, what I find interesting in this email from the Capitol Police is that they say, "Within the past twenty-four hours, a number of letters have begun arriving at various Congressional Offices on Capitol Hill."
That would mean that these letters started arriving at the Congressional offices YESTERDAY.
Now, the qquestion is this... Why didn't the people who got these letters immediately call the Capitol Police, the FBI, Homeland Security, etc.?
This is a very important question that all the politicians must answer, and they must answer it now.
Liberal logic:
Stop the war or I’ll kill you!!!
I guess what is confusing me is the reports do not make it clear whether it was this ‘thursday(today)..or last thursday?
Which 24 hours does this letter refer to?
Where were the letters postmarked?
I think you’re out of control. It doesn’t surprise me at all that it took a week for a manila envelope to get from NYC then through the Capital Hill post office. Or whether it arrived sooner, after opening it, not giving it much thought. A postcard of a guy standing in front of a recruiting station. Whooptie $hit. Nobody has any dots to connect until after the explosion.
this sounds precisely planned to me
Just to remind you, it wasn't just a photo. There was also the manifesto railing against the war and some kind of pamphlet.
Maybe a Code Pink pamphlet? An SDS "Funk the War" pamphlet?
IVAW?
Winter Soldier II?
What do they actually do in the screening process.
I guess I kinda assumed that meant they opened them.
Or do they just sniff ‘em, scan ‘em, X-ray em, stuff like that?
LOL....What do you think the rats would do if the republicans got similar letters the day before a bomb went off at an abortion clinic?
I am pissed off and just a tad bit out of control..LOL..but I am going to demand an investigation and I hope my fellow freeper’s do the same!
Time for the dem congress to stop investigating steroids and do the people’s business!!
