Jobs are flocking to low-tax states for a reason.
The Pacific Research Institute has crunched the tax numbers in all 50 states and published the "U.S. Economic Freedom Index" ranking all states according to how friendly or unfriendly their policies were toward free enterprise and consumer choice...
Where a state falls on the U.S. Economic Freedom Index also indicates how likely it is to experience real economic growth over the long term. Individuals looking to open a new business, expand operations or market new products weigh the comparative costs and benefits of different locations.... They also assess the policy climate. Economic freedom--a favorable state tax, regulatory, and legal climate--attracts entrepreneurs and capital, thereby increasing jobs and wages.
In 2005, per capita personal income grew 31% faster in the 15 most economically free states than it did in the 15 states at the bottom of the list. And employment growth was a staggering 216% higher in the most free states.

Should people have private sector jobs, or should they be dependent on government handouts? This is a basic difference in the political philosophies of different states in the U.S.

This is why FL is stagnating...it has been morphing over the last few years from a free state into a “teat” state...
To: grundle
So where is the state ranking?

Right. Eliminating all taxes and regulations moved the jobs to China.

Also, this is why I laugh when I hear Northerners moaning about how there are no jobs and the economy is the worst ever and how they’re never going to get another job now that they’ve lost what they had at GM/insert other union shop here.
Meanwhile, in Texas, I can get any of about 2000 entry level jobs, TODAY. I can get a job in my chosen field, TODAY. I could even go to San Antonio and get hired on to build Toyota trucks, TODAY.
Lots of jobs here.

This is why New Jersey has already died and is decaying . It is NOT the refineries you smell. We even have a Lautencadaver as a Senator .

Actually the fact that people will work for .25 an hour is why some jobs went to China
Sooooo, why are the Chinese WILLING to work for so little? Answer, they are poverty stricken after 60 years of Communism. The tagline never lies.
To: shatcher
I just e-mailed the institute requesting info on the ranking. I will post it here if I get it.

Even in low tax states All businesses still have pay federal taxes and comply with Federal environmental laws, all federal laws and, and all Federal Regulations. That is why they move to China high federal taxes and the many federal regulations.

The libtards have a "solution" for that too! Strangle "big business" more evenly across the country with increased federal regulations and taxation. Sweet equality!
Then we can crunch the numbers and show that job growth is 216% higher in NATIONS with lower taxes and less regulation.
Anyone want to guess on the next stage of lib-socialist solution? Increased GLOBAL taxation and regulation! I can't wait to make the same wage as a Somali gangbanger eating turd-world narcotics and picking his butt. So egalitarian!
