Dear Jim..OK, the GOP now has its candidate. McCain isn't the first choice of the majority of us on FR, and even now, there are spirited, yet for the most part, civil exchanges on the threads as to whether or not some will support the GOP nominee. One of the more unfortunate, and unpleasant events on FR was the mass banishment and/or leaving of a great many Freepers who were supporters of Rudy Guliani for the nomination. I'm posting this to see if you'd be open to the idea of inviting them to return, and see how others might feel about this.
What if we have them pay fines, and back taxes and put them on some sort of pathway to freeper citizenship. That wouldn't be amnesty. Would it?
I will admit some of them were amusing. My son is like that, but he is a liberal. Liberals are amusing and informative in a certain way.
Big problem with them, they know nothing about what is best for civilization. Fact is, they are usually behind the downfall of civilizations.
I am sure you can find what you are looking for somewhere on the internet. FR does not need to be a place for intellectual liberals to sell their wares, does it? They are out there.
It’s easy. Anyone who was banned or asked to have their accounts removed should stay banned or removed.
Folks who didn’t get themselves banned or removed but just took a breather for the duration, well, nothing needs be done there, either. They can return at their leisure.

The FReepers I'm talking about weren't liberal.
Name a few and let’s check out the posting history for context.
Patrick Henry, Radio Astronomer, Millee, martin fiero, Fierce Allegence, HOTTIEBOY
Not completely sure of spellings. I could probably come up with several dozen more with a archive search.
The Rudybots weren't that bad. I can suggest a group who still lingers who was worse.
Certainly not as bad as Ash (old timers will remember Ash and the infamous Ash Alerts) and I would like to see him (or her) come back. As annoying as Ash was, he was certainly entertaining.
peacebaby, paulaB, Peach
But MurryMom is still here. Go figure.
Some of the RINOs later tried a coup at WAnkerville and were banned from there also.
Peach was a pro-abortion RINO who tried to demean President Reagan to support abortionism.
Victor, martin got some timeouts for being an excitable boy, but he’s still here.
Yeah, but they weren't conservatives, remember there are "smart and thoughtful" DUmmies too.
From his page This account has not been banned or suspended.
I was just clicking on some old favorites, and saw that without noticing the word NOT. I should read more carefully.
There were some that came back under a different screen name, IIRC, and got caught. There are a few that I would be happy to see return, but some I remember acted as though they owned the site instead of Jim.
Patrick Henry, Radio Astronomer: Neither was banned for being a Rooty Rooter, both were openly opposed to the pro-life agenda.
Millee: Is now openly anti-FReeping with the liberaltarians.
martin_fierro: Not banned, still posting.
Fierce Allegiance: Pissed of JR and a lot of others.
HOTTIEBOY: No idea was around long after the bug zapper thread.
peacebaby: Not sure.
paulaB: Not sure.
Peach: Said Reagan was pro-abortion.
Radio Astronomer : an administrator of an Anti - Freeper website.
Peach was a rampaging liberal, and frankly had an ugly personality to boot.
Don’t waste your time wagglebee, the people we are talking to will refuse to admit it. Perhaps they can’t see it because they are of like kind.
Perhaps we should say they were well meaning, good natured, for the most part, entertaining, intellectual, progressives.
This description should fix things.
I wouldn’t put it past McCain, but he’ll either have to go South for a VEEP or add an African-American like Colin Powell.
