Article has the last "letter" from Reyes to the FARC. Below is the relevant section talking about Obama followed by my translation;
6. The gringos will ask for an appointment with the minister to solicit him to communicate to us his interest in discussing these topics. They say that the new president of their country will be Obama and that they are interested in your compatriots. Obama will not support "Plan Colombia" nor will he sign the TLC (Colombian Free Trade agreement). Here we responded that we are interested in relations with all governments in equality of conditions and that in the case of the US it is required a public pronouncement expressing their interest in talking with the FARC given their eternal war against us.
Barack Obama Statement on Recent Events near Colombia’s Borders

March 03, 2008 — “The Colombian people have suffered for more than four decades at the hands of a brutal terrorist insurgency, and the Colombian government has every right to defend itself against the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
The recent targeted killing of a senior FARC leader must not be used as a pretense to ratchet up tensions or to threaten the stability of the region.
The presidents of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela have a responsibility to ensure that events not spiral out of control, and to peacefully address any disputes through active diplomacy with the help of international actors.”

Your post is quite impressive to me. Very selfless and honorable. Bravo!
“They say that the new president of their country will be Obama...”
Looks like they don’t have a clue.

Good, Clinton, Obama and McCain have pretty much said the same thing.
Time for details though, what happens if Venezuela steps on Colombian soil (unlikely). How about Plan Colombia, support or not. What about the trade agreement?
What are the candidates going to do with South America, which is getting out of control with the Chavez bloc.
Gee... I sure would hate to see him have some kinda accident or sumpthin'...
It’s becoming more and more clear that an Obama Presidency will be a strategic catastrophe for the U.S.’s interests in the world.
“the U.S. will legalize drugs, to ensure him a cushy income for life.”
If they legalize drugs, Hugo will be out of one of his jobs.
So Obama is an ALLY of FARC! Saving for posterity and suggesting everyone else does, too.
Tsk, tsk...
...all this desperate digging up of Obama “connections....”
/sarcasm
so do our insane friends ? (kosovo-terrorist- backers-dhimmis from-uk-france-germany-eu) from old europe
Gringo compatriots. Implications of “we scratched your back, you’ll scratch ours”, here.
Something got lost in the Spanish translation? Because that’s nothing like the FARC memo.
C’mon, join us already.
Our motto is “McCain doesn’t suck as bad as the other two a$$clowns.”
Our platform is to make him president, don’t let him do anything except execute the war and spending cuts, and make his life miserable so he’s got no choice but letting one of our own take over leadership of a winning war effort in 2012.
Sound like a plan?
I was one of the “I’ll never vote for McCain” contingent. I think I’m starting to come to my senses..slowly.
Right. Vote third-party or don’t vote and you’ll help vote in The Beast or Hussein. McCain was not my first nor second choice, but there’s a reality here of what happens if the dems win; I don’t want to be a part of that.

lol Alright alright I'm in thanks to everyone in this thread. *pours first round of shots*
I raise a toast to all the conservatives. May we be the thorn in McCain's backside, each and every day!
Any God Fearing American who LOVES AMERICA and thinks Obama is the solution — hasn’t correctly identified the problem..
Obama, who promises “change” - has masked the reality of the fact that his “change” requires the denial of personal freedom and wealth from the responsible to cover the costs of those whose lack of personal responsibility has made them dependent on others.
That my friends, is a full blown SOCIALIST leap toward COMMUNISM.
We’ve all seen where that has led EVERY country who tried it..
They ran down the fast path to failure and ruin......
America was meant and destined to be better than that — and better than to be fooled by a charlatan like Obama.
That’s funny: just this morning Mary Anastasia O’Grady was on Bill Bennett’s talk show, and was saying that Chavez would wait to invade Colombia until Obama was elected, since he knows Obama would never do a thing to stop him!
And here’s one of Chavez’ FARC-buddies saying the same thing.
Not “public uprising” but “public announcement”.
