As reported by CNN (CNN en Espanol?), Alvaro Uribe (president of Colombia) has just announced a few minutes ago that the Colombian government will submit a criminal complaint against the President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez before the International Criminal Court for his ties with the FARC and having financed and supported a terrorist organization.

Video coming soon.

I read somewhere that the Colombians recovered a computer from the FARC leader they killed last week. On the computer was allegedly proof that Chavez was paying off the FARC $300 million to facilitate the release of hostages.

Just f-ing wonderful.

Who put the Colombians up to legitimizing this court?

The only way to fix Chavez is a bullet to the head.

Article update.

Video is now available, additional text;

The complaint is based on the crime of “patronage and financing of genocide”, after recognizing the pieces of documented proof found in the computer of Raúl Reyes and will be backed by the documentation found in the computers of Raúl Reyes.

Uribe’s pronouncement was made after visiting the recently released hostage Gloria Polanco at her home north of Bogotá.

According to El Tiempo, Uribe told reporters that that Colombia will ask the International Criminal Court that charges be brought against Chavez for "sponsoring and financing genocide." Yep, genocide.

This is actually an excellent idea. Of course, Chavez has denied the links to FARC and called them lies. A third party evaluating what Colombia found in the FARC computer would undercut Chavez's denials.

The world court is a pro-communist, pro-Islamic organization. Period.

The only reaction you’ll get out of the world court is when denouncing capitalist countries or Israel.

That’s ok, even if they get the cold shoulder from the world court at least they can say they’re “playing by the rules” and acting like the mature party here (just by their reaction you can tell).

Also, if the evidence is irrefutable, it will show that the world court is a sham if they don’t act (they do have a nice set of photographic evidence). I wish they had satellite pictures of camps in Venezuela, there has to be a bunch.

This is why Chavez sent tanks to the border. He knew the gig was up when Colombia took out his buddy Reyes. He had to know they would find evidence of his financial ties to FARC, and if Colombia goes to the World Court, it is possible sanctions could be slapped on Venezuela. At the least, he will become even more of a pariah, and no amount of coca leaves will ease the pain of the bitch slap Colombia just gave Hugo.

Exactly. The ICC was only established to punish the “misdeeds” of the US and Israel.

One wrong move on someone’s part and its war. I wouldn’t want to be Chavez in the waning months of El Diablo’s administration. Chavez may meet his maker, and may be smelling sulfur again.
