On a just-finished conference call in which retired military leaders endorsed Hillary Clinton to be commander in chief, retired General Wesley Clark said John McCain's military experience is not the right kind of experience to command the nation's armed forces:

Yeah, right. He didn’t almost start WWIII by trying to attack a bunch of Soviet troops over the ####hole that is Bosnia/Kosovo/Albania. Guess that makes him unqualified in Wesley’s book. /SPIT

I tend to agree with the sentiment....that being a fighter pilot doesn’t necessarily give you qualifications for Commander in Chief......but who in the race DOES have that experience?

I’d rather have a CIVILIAN that gets the right generals/admirals around them.

...and I’d rather have someone that has not violated the Constitution and his oath of office.

You mean the Wesley Clark military experience that:

1) Helped plan the Waco BBQ?

2) Bombed civilians in Kosovo?

3) Was told: “I’m not going to start the third world war for you,” by General Sir Mike Jackson, commander of the international KFOR peacekeeping force.

4) Was sacked by then Def. Secretary Cohen?

You mean THAT kind of military experience, Wesley?

There has been an unholy alliance between Clark and the Clintons since at least ‘93 (Waco). Can’t even speculate what’s at the bottom of it. (More specifically than Waco, that is.)

Along with everyone else in the media, friends and foes alike, Clark insists on referring to McCain as a “fighter pilot.”

McCain flew an A-4 Skyhawk. The “A” is for “attack.” There is a huge distinction between attack and fighter in the naval aviation world. McCain was never a fighter pilot.

If it only seems like semantics, ask a fighter pilot. A real one.

Wes Clark does not remind me of a fierce warrior.

Wes has way to many Homosexual tendencies.

Wesley Clark was fired from his job as a General for being insubordinate and incompetent.

Fortunately, he will go away after tomorrow when Hillary is buried in Texas and Ohio.

It will be a Wisconsin replay...

Weasley Clark was an even worse general than George McClellan. Clark and McPeak are currently kissing ass in their quest for a high position in the Obama administration.

As much as I dislike (and that’s a mild word) McCain, when Wesley is heard, McCain becomes great.

One could say the same thing about Harry Truman (a mere laison officer in the artillery during WWI) or John F. Kennedy (a mere PT boat commander during WWII), and I could go on and on about junior officers and enlisted men who returned from overseas to serve this country well in new capacities.

There is a good argument that certain military experience is very good preparation for being President; e.g., George Washington, U.S. Grant and Dwight Eisenhower. But, for most people who have served honorably, what military experience demonstrates is patriotism and physical courage. I cannot imagine that Bob Dole or John Glenn would ever sell us out.

With regard to some high-ranking officers, like Wesley Clark, it doesn’t appear that they are able to translate their leadership and command style to the civilian world. George Marshall or Colin Powell, on the other hand, moved easily into new positions of responsibility. As to why some can make the change and others can’t, I’d say it is because many military leaders use the authoritarian style, which doesn’t work so well in the civilian world.

With regard to John McCain, being a naval aviator, he was kind of on the wild side as a young man, which may or may not be the right kind of “experience” for a leader of a free society. His “experience” in the Hanoi Hilton, as he develops in his autobiography, deepened him, and his faith in God and his devotion to this country.

Just heard on FoxNews that when Clark was running for President four years ago, Clark had to ask an aide to clarify to him (Clark) what his (Clarks)stance on the Iraq War was. LOL!

“No, only Wes “The Supreme Being” Clark does.”

I thought Al Gore was the supreme being. Or is it Obama?
