Along with everyone else in the media, friends and foes alike, Clark insists on referring to McCain as a “fighter pilot.”
McCain flew an A-4 Skyhawk. The “A” is for “attack.” There is a huge distinction between attack and fighter in the naval aviation world. McCain was never a fighter pilot.
If it only seems like semantics, ask a fighter pilot. A real one.
