Yes We Can -- Without the Government - Reagan Video
Blogs For John McCain ^ | March 2, 2008 | brianinmo

Here is a great compilation video of Ronald Reagan essentially saying, "Yes, we can," without the government doing everything for us, unlike what is being proposed by Barack Obama. These are the principles Reagan stood for, and the principles John McCain will govern by as President. It's a stark choice . . .

I will probably hold my nose and vote for McCain. Judging by McCain’s history of laws and votes you can’t say that he will lead as Reagan did. McCain isn’t Reagan. He will only get my vote because he isn’t Hillary or Obama.

Same here. I am lucky though that I have a conservative Congressman in a safe district (for now).

I understand your feelings. But on the matter of economics, in terms of health care and the great issue of who will move us toward Socialism as opposed to standing on free market principles, McCain will stand on those Reagan free market principles. McCain is not running against a fleet of conservative Republicans any longer - he is about to be running against Barack Obama (probably) or Hillary Clinton. That is a stark choice.

Reagan is probably agonizing in the grave at the tragic choice of the lesser of THREE EVILS we are faced with. We must do what we must do -— to minimize the damage to America that this election will bring. Such a horrid situation for what was once the greatest nation on earth...

Thanks EagleUSA,
I wholeheartedly agree that McCain is not Reagan. But he does still stand on many of Reagan’s principles in terms of national defense and economics. There will never be another Ronald Reagan. But we need to support the candidate that most closely stands for those principles. As you said - that clearly is not Obama or Hillary.

It brought a tear to my eye too, particularly his closing - “After all, we are Americans.” I remember when Reagan made those speeches, and it moved me and millions of Americans at the time. It still moves me.

The “Yes we can” slogan from Barrack Hussein, to me implies that you can’t do anything without the help of big government.

We need to counter this slogan with a positive “Yes YOU can”. To show that we don’t need government meddling in its citizens right to life, liberty and persuit of happiness. I hope we can use this slogan against Hussein during the general election.

"That is a stark choice"

This is what your Stark Choice is going to get you:

John McCain will grant amnesty to 20-40 million+ Illegal Aliens who will vote 70%+ Democrat (As they always have).

The resultant imbalance of majority Democrat votes will force the GOP into minority status for decades to come.

On top of that, millions of conservatives will leave the GOP because of John McCains treachery further deepening the imbalance of GOP votes to Democrat votes.

The final 'nail in the coffin' will be his total inaction against chain-migration that will bring millions more Democrat votes into the equation.

Furthermore, all you have to remember to know how John McAmnesty will govern are the following salient FACTS:

1. McCain-FienGold
2. McCain-Kennedy
3. McCain-Lieberman
4. Kerry-McCain
5. Gang of 14
6. Total Support for the Global Warming scam
7. Supports the murder of unborn children vis-a-vis Embryonic Stem Cells.
8. Refuses to drill in ANWAR.
9. Will grant Amnesty if given the chance.
10. Leaked Top Secret information about CIA Prisons in Europe.
11. Wants to close GITMO and give the Terrorists access to our legal system.
12. Voted against President Bush's Tax Cuts.

What’s the difference between #2 and #9 from your list? I agree completely with what you said, and John McCain truly needs to fully explain himself on all of these complaints! My question is what should seriously be done next to successfully move in the direction of: 1.) full borders security and full ocean coasts security to the best of human abilities and for always, 2.) truly no amnesty of any kind for illegal immigrants at any time in the future, 3.) successfully making English the official language of the U.S. for always, 4.) successfully moving in the direction of ending all problems as they are related to illegal immigration throughout the U.S., 5.) finally fully enacting all of the present laws throughout the U.S. as they are related to dealing with illegal immigration, 6.) successfully deporting illegal immigrants to the best of human abilities and for always, 7.) successfully using attrition for always which will also cause illegal immigrants to leave on their own, 8.) successfully punishing all employers who use illegal immigrants for any and all jobs available anywhere and at any time throughout the U.S., 9.) encouraging all other countries of the world through a variety of incentives to truly improve upon themselves to the point that people will no longer have any reasons to leave such countries in order to come to the U.S. in the first place? NumbersUSA and all of the other “anti-amnesty for illegal immigrants” groups truly and seriously need to get together in order to successfully plan their next moves for the next President and the next Congress. The U.S. will be in big trouble on a finite number of issues for the remainder of its existence if amnesty for illegal immigrants along with continuing open borders happens after mid-January ‘09!

We are in a miserable spot.

All we really can do is stay home on election day...
or pick the least offensive of the gawd-awful alternatives on the ballot.

This really, really sucks.

There is a simple solution to the Illegal Alien problem, it involves five steps and I give them in basically a chronological order:

1. Total and Complete Employee SSN verification using the SSN web-site. If your SSN does not pass and it cannot be cleared up using the guidelines of the Real ID act, you cannot get the job.
2. No access to any social services except for health issues that are immediately life-threatening.
3. Illegal Aliens, or their employers, pay for extra services to educate their third-world children.
4. Complete a physical fence across the southern border.
5. Adjust, as necessary, the numbers allowed into the green-card system or any other temporary worker system.

Actually, if you want to make it dirt simple, simply enact and enforce only #1. The Illegal Aliens will leave in the millions if you take away the incentive of employment.

Actually there is a third option....

Either vote third-party or write in a conservative's name for President and fight like hell for all conservative GOP candidates downstream from the Presidential election.

The option of staying home this election is no option at all.

We should all be voting.

What I meant by my question is this: a President Obama, a President Hillary Clinton, or a President McCain along with enough “pro open borders” and “pro-amnesty for illegal immigrants” Congress persons will all truly be for both open borders and amnesty for illegal immigrants “to the max” throughout the U.S.! What are the next moves for all of us who truly don’t want all of these terrible things to happen?

This is a post from conservativegreatgrandma. It is one thing you can do.

" I've been involved in government for many years and I do believe that we need a strong party. I have learned to vote for RINOs. I had the lesson put to me through the experiences I had. Unfortunately, we will NEVER win an election if we do not also have RINOs. We need them and we must hang together.

Get in there and start by going to county caucuses and get yourself elected to county organizations. Build this thing from the ground up.

A few years ago, we had four Republicans running in a primary for US Congress. We're in a heavily Republican district. Rules are that the nominee must get at least 35% of the vote or it would go to a convention of district delegates. I planned six months in advance by getting myself and others selected as delegates. It wasn't hard.

Well, guess what. Because of this strategy we have one of the finest members of Congress representing us and working for the issues we want.

Plan to take over the party from the ground up. Get involved. It's easy."
