The price tag is incredible!

The Berkeley City Council has cost the City of Berkeley taxpayers in excess of $93,000 on Feb 12; and every Friday $20,000.

Wonder how long it’ll take the city to go broke?

”It supports the war by continuing to pull people into the war machine,” said Jennifer Kitter, a Code Pink member, and regular at the protests. "I am also protesting by not bathing during all of this time. I'm not shaving my legs or armpits, either," she continued. I'll show those evil warmongers. I haven't taken a bath or shower in weeks. It's great, really. I have much more time to protest since I'm not wasting any time on useless grooming."

Don't forget that the businesses in the area of the Code Pink Stink protests are hurting (and complaining) too:

Berkeley businesses feel pinch of weekly anti-war protests

Money means absolutely nothing to these cities. They will gladly spend a million bucks on a wheelchair ramp and act as if it’s no ones business.

Cool!!!!

Hey, here’s a new idea for a “protest sign” for outside of the Marine recruiting station...

“Hey Berkeley Tax Payers! Code Pink just cost you $20,000!

Have a Nice Day! :-)”

Maybe modify the first line with:

“Hey Berkeley Tax Payers (all 11 of you)! Code Pink just cost you $20,000!”

Mark

Simply up the protests to every day at 20 Grand a pop and Berkeley could go broke much sooner.:) $20,000 does seem excessive to make sure the two sides “don’t get physical with each other”— Translation: Make sure some Pinko doesn’t get hysterical and assault a Veteran or Patriot and show themselves for what they really are.

That $20,000 is probably calculated by using overtime rates for the local PD, plus an additional charge for benefits, pension, etc.

Think about how much the city council could save by hiring the old guys who hand out carts at the closest Wal-Mart instead. And they could even bring their little vests with them, to clearly identify themselves.

I saw a you tube clip where a code pinko responded to the question are marine’s war criminals “yes”
asked do they intentionally kill women and children “yes”
was WWII an unjust war”yes and what the hell are we doing in Hawaii anyway”
the pinko asked “what is wrong with communism?”

The petition

We, the undersigned condemn the Berkeley City Council’s treasonous attack on US Marine Recruiters stationed in their city. We ask that Congress cut off funds from any and all municipal entity within the confines of the city of Berkeley, California, until such time as the city council withdraws it’s action.

The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and “if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests.”

The measure passed last week by a vote of 8-1.

The council also voted to explore enforcing a city anti-discrimination law, focusing on the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

In a separate item, the council voted, also 8-1, to give the Marxist protest group Code Pink a parking space in front of the recruiting office once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week.

AWESOME. What’d be even better is if conventions and meeting which were scheduled to be held in the area started pulling out and heading for other venues.
