McCain has edge over Democrats (LA Times poll)
Los Angeles Times ^ | Feb. 27, 2008 | Peter Wallsten

He is rated higher for experience, fighting terrorism and Iraq.

In head-to-head contests, the poll found, McCain leads Clinton by 6 percentage points (46% to 40%) and Obama by 2 points (44% to 42%). Neither lead is commanding given that the survey, conducted Feb. 21-25, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

The survey showed that McCain's potential advantages extend even to domestic issues, where he is considered to be most vulnerable. Even though McCain has joked about his lack of expertise on economic issues, voters picked him over Obama, 42% to 34%, as being best able to handle the economy. However, Clinton led McCain on that issue, 43% to 34%.

For practical purposes McCain is tied with Clinton or Obama.

Conservatives may be the "swing vote" -- better make up your minds, whether you really want to have President Obama on your conscience.

I hope some of these people would start helping Mac out, financially and start getting of their butt and show up at rallies.

Just answering the phone is not enough.

A few things that makes this poll even better for McCain.

1) The LA Times’s poll is notorious for undercounting the GOP Vote.

2) Obama has only experienced very gentle press up til now.

3) Obama’s record and background have not been looked at by the vast majority of Americans yet. A similar situation occurred last year when Rudy was in first place among conservative and GOP voters...well that was before they knew his record.

I feel very confident that McCain will win this. If we play our cards right we might even win big enough to take back the House and the Senate.

It's going to take WORK. Like making donations. Talking up the candidates to your friends and acquaintances. Attending events.

That horrible human being, Nancy Pelosi, cannot be gone soon enough for me.

“If we play our cards right we might even win big enough to take back the House and the Senate.”

That’s a mighty big ‘if.’ GOP isn’t called the Stupid Party for nothing. If they were we’d be majority today.

Well, I sure won’t vote for the amnesty freak. He is so tainted with lobbyist, no conservative would vote foe him. I will just stay home. They have him taped on the radio tonight as saying “Im the real Liberal in the... dah, I mean conservative.” !!!
Let me tell you that if you don’t stand for anything then vote for this joke that got 38% of his parties vote (62% rejecting him but disregarded in “winner Take all”)then go ahead. I can’t stand him . He makes me puke.

It’s not that Obama isn’t qualified, it’s that he’s a Marxist un-American.

“The link is broken”

I checked and you are right. But I think it’s a temporary problem, I went to the LAT website, searched, the article showed up, but when I clicked on the link from there, in one case it said server error, another time page not found.

http://search.latimes.com/search?q=mccain+edge+democrats&entqr=3&entsp=0&sort=date%3AD%3AL%3Ad1&output=xml_no_dtd&client=latimes&ud=1&oe=UTF-8&ie=UTF-8&proxystylesheet=latimes&site=default_collection&getfields=thumbnail_small

Here is a very similar ( maybe the identical article) from an India paper:

McCain will win twenty States easily and probably at least ten others more closely. You know this so cut the crap.
