Geldof and Bush: Diary From the Road

I gave the President my book. He raised an eyebrow. "Who wrote this for ya, Geldof?" he said without looking up from the cover. Very dry. "Who will you get to read it for you, Mr. President?" I replied. No response. The Most Powerful Man in the World studied the front cover. Geldof in Africa " 'The international best seller.' You write that bit yourself?"
"That's right. It's called marketing. Something you obviously have no clue about or else I wouldn't have to be here telling people your Africa story."
It is some story. And I have always wondered why it was never told properly to the American people, who were paying for it.

Bush did say Africa wasn’t a US national strategic interest...a globalist lie. Kinda like nation-building.

Action may very well be his wish, but because of the U.S.'s intervention elsewhere and his own preemptive philosophy, it is now unacceptable for the U.S. to engage unilaterally. By his own deeds, he has rendered U.S. action in Darfur impossible. STFU, you third-rate untalented hack. If intervention is now "unacceptable," your friends in the worldwide media are at least as much to blame.

Geldof wants to win cocky points from his peers and he carries the same attitude toward Iraq as Helen Thomas. Rock Stars are soooo anti-authority, the establishment, the man, etc. Bush should have kicked him out of Air Force One with just a parachute. One the way down Bush could have said, “Hope it’s like your mind and opens up real quick.”

It’s Pink stroking the Big Boss to give a green light to enter into Africa. Just two socialists on different wavelengths, quipping to save street cred.

And it’s BS, the US has/will give any and all blue-helmet assistance in the Darfur experiment.

I love that these threads bring out the "Bush is a socialist" loons who still think Ron Paul has a shot at being president.
Good God, people want Bush to blast every person who doesn't agree with him on everything--which would be everyone on the planet.
Geldoff said something nice about ONE thing the president has done, and SHOULD have done, and the freaks start shrieking. I'm sure they all talk trash to every person who doesn't agree with them on every issue. Yeah, sure. They probably cry when the comic book store runs out of super collectors' editions of X-Men.

By his own deeds, he has rendered U.S. action in Darfur impossible. The rest of the world, whose opinions we care so much about, have whole armies they can throw at the Darfur problem.

...Yeah, sure. They probably cry... Yes, that's true.
People cry when part of their country is taken from them - like Kosovo taken from Serbia.
I'm sure you understand.

Yes, that's true. People cry when part of their country is taken from them - like Kosovo taken from Serbia. I'm sure you understand. So because I don't like Mike Huckabee, I am thus guilty of taking Kosovo from Serbia?
You Huckaboobs get weirder every day. And more self-righteous. (How is paying for the children of illegals to go to school going to help keep this country from being taken away from us, exactly?)

You're clueless, good night. :-)Another who is so inept at defending the indefensible flip-flopper Huckabee. Just toss up a silly label like "clueless" and run from the debate when your man is attacked--which in the eyes of Huckaboobs is bringing up his record.
Keep at it, Huck--Obama wants you to force McCain to spend MORE money. And you're good at getting people to open their wallets.

Read the article, it’s practically a love letter to the president.
The first paragraph is Irish Humor. Geldof is complaining that Bush isn’t getting any credit for all the good work he’s doing in Africa and needs a marketing plan to let the American People know.
To: Philly Nomad
I have read it and Geldof still won’t discuss Iraq, though the president would have liked to. Bob sees Iraq as a mistake and uses the “freedom at the end of a gun” line. The only thing Saddam offered was death at the end of a gun. I hate these one liners when there was something like 23 stated reasons to invade Iraq that was put to the vote, and which were mostly the same reasons that made Clinton prepare for war in 1998.
