It wasn’t a grim siege. It was a quagmire so they went for total annihilation.

I know I’m getting older but 1993 doesn’t seem like that long ago.

Years ago, at the recommendation of an ex-BATF agent I knew in California, I purchased and read the ATF's report on this fiasco.
Shall we say, it made for very interesting reading.

I never realized that the first WTC bombing and the Waco siege were just two days apart.

And the
BATFE is still going strong harassing people with little to no over sight.
Looks like changing the occupant of the White House really didn't do us a lot of good. Looking at our options for November, it doesn't look good looking forward either...

Minigunning the roof kind of helped the ventilation too.
More things happened at Waco and more parties were involved than we’ll probably ever know. May all the innocents who perished there rest in peace.

Attorney General Janet Reno ordered the use of force And refresh our memory, who provided it? In violation of what cherished principle in American law?
To: yankeedame
Grim statistic: Clinton pick Janet Reno was the worst and most corrupt AG in American history.

Note also that the final assault on 19 April 1993 occurred 50 years to the day after the final assault on the Warsaw Ghetto during the uprising there.

Grim??? That situation did not have to happen if David Wacko did not cause it in the first place.

John Danforth lied: the Feds executed the Branch Davidians as they fled the burning buildings.

The shame of it all is that if they wanted to just arrest David Koresh this could have all been avoided. They are the ones that thought he was a whacko and knew the compound had weapons. They also knew he took regular trips to town.
Instead of inflaming the situation, why did they not simply arrest him in town on one of his visits? These bozos at the ATF wanted a confrontation, but they got more than they bargained for.

I spent a couple hours in 2001 walking the grounds there...that particular sect of the Branch Davidians had some evil in it, but, they certainly did not deserve or warrant an attack of that scale by the US Government.

Sad to say, when it happened I must admit I believed a lot of the lies put out about how/why the incident occured.
After watching the incredible documentary Waco: Rules of Engagement, it became clear the the government’s story was built on one huge lie after another. They murdered those people in cold blood. Justice was never served against any of the murderers.
That documentary should be required viewing for every American as a wake-up call of what the U.S. government is capable of.
