Wiki -
McCain was born on August 29, 1936, at the Coco Solo Air Base in the then-American-controlled Panama Canal Zone[2] to Navy officer John S. “Jack” McCain, Jr. (19111981) and Roberta (Wright) McCain (b. 1912).
Let me add to that:
John S. “Jack” McCain was born into a Naval Officer’s family. Coco Solo Air Naval Air Station Hospital was run by U.S. Naval personnel on sovereign U.S. soil.
HE IS AN AMERICAN.
To say less would jeopardize every man woman and child born in U.S. military families the world over.

Well...to be honest I don’t. Her father (Navy) insists he filed the right papers. They don’t have them. But still she would be a citizen and not a natural born citizen.

Once again, any child born of US citizens is in fact a US citizen regardless of where.
In most cases, a person is a U.S. citizen if all of the following are true:
1.One of his or her parents was a U.S. citizen at the time of the person in question's birth;
2.The citizen parent lived at least 5 years in the United States before his or her child's birth; and
3.At least 2 of these 5 years in the United States were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday.

I agree, lets wait untill the "bannaaramma, clintoon" debacle shakes out and see how he does. The posturing for fence-sitters pisses me off but thats what it is.

From 2001? In any case if he wants Obama over McCain he has my sympathies.

Newfoundland only became part of Canada in 1949. Before that it was British (not sure of the technical term for its status). I assume any Newfoundlanders living in 1949 automatically became Canadian citizens when Newfoundland became the tenth province of Canada.
But they can't run for President of Canada, there being no such office.

That is an interesting thought. With the Slimes, anything is possible.

I’ve noticed you’re still around.
I’ll ask you again, who is your candidate of choice? Your quick to reply with a snarky comment, but you can’t answer my question.
To: Kay Ludlow
Is this really an issue? Weren’t his parents both U.S. Citizens? This is quite ridiculous, IMHO. I don’t like McCain, but geez...

Bill clinton did not get any big liberal laws passed. In August 1993, Bill Clinton signed Into law a $241 Billion tax hike, then "The Largest Tax Increase In U.S. History." That's not liberal?
That is what you get with a Dem POTUS, House and Senate. Only after the GOP won the House in 1994 was there some restraint.
