NYT: MCCAIN'S BIRTHPLACE IN CANAL ZONE RAISES ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONS...
With George Romney it was a legitimate challenge. George Romney's parents were not under the jurisdiction of the United States at the time of his birth. They were in Mexico escaping the laws of the United States in regard to Polygamy.
McCain was born in a US Territory that Carter later gave away.
Thinking this thru, I suspect that McCain is going to lose anyway. Maybe we would be better off if the Supreme Court ruled that you have to be born in one of the 50 states in order to be eligible. That would eliminate a lot of Dems.
They wouldn’t have wanted a Latinamerican leading an invasion of Latinamericans into the US that promised to change the whole fabric of US culture and demographics. The Founders were indeed prescient.
Hey - being a mom, how could I not make the correlation! Birth/canal. Can’t help it!
...sunny side up..lol
That’s what I was thinking.
Put Duncan in instead, everybody liked him but nobody thought he could be nominated
ROT IN HELL, NY TIMES - http://youtube.com/watch?v=eOWeczTvJr4
THAT explains why Carter tried so hard to give up the canal treaty, and Clinton tried so hard to turn it over to China! It was all in prep for a McCain candidacy!
zOMG!
I haven’t read the whole thread yet- but my first reaction is...they KNEW this when they endorsed him, didn’t they?
I have to go read the thread now- but I think this issue has already been de-bunked..
I guess, to the NYT, it's a question of the soil that's under you at the time.
That should only be important to vampires....and they carry their own.
(I wonder if his middle name offends anyone?)
I'm offended.
As POTUS, McCain will enable the policies of Australia.
Yes this is true, My brother can not run for president. Even though he is the smartest of my clan. He was born in Cyprus to American parents serving in the state department at the time.
I also have a friend who was born on a military base overseas to american parents in the 60s and when they came back they didn’t file the right papers, thinking that being US citizens and born on a base she was a citizen. She found out, two years ago when she went to get her first passport that she was NOT a citizen, even though she had lived in this country since 2 and was married to a natural born citizen and born to american parents, she voted in the past and has a social security number. They almost deported her and now she has a green card and had to accept British citizenship. She is so disgusted with the crap our gov gave her, she no longer wants it. You need to be born in the US to run for president. But maybe we can amend it so Arnold can run after all.
Fine. Lets play along. Disqualify him and put Fred Thompson in his place.
From your lips to God’s ears...
I don't think there is any problem with this.
Read Title 8 of the U.S. Code, Section 1401. It breaks down the qualifying variables for a person born to US parents.
maybe he was born by C-section. ;)Despair thy charm;
Macbeth, Act V, scene vii
Despite widespread popular belief, U.S. military installations abroad and U.S. diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States. It is NOT sovereign soil. The land is still owned by the host country, but diplomatic missions are exempt from local law and in almost all respects treated as part of the territory of the home country. For example the host country may not enter the representing country's embassy without permission, but they still own it.
factmart, you are one sick puppy.
If you’re permitted to stay on this site and continue posting, the liberals from the NYT and EVERY drive-by media outlet will have a field day.
I not willing to give my counrty up over Iraq.
I hope mcNuts loses.
Yes. It’s a no-brainer.
