An Email ^

This is a video of the Cactus Cuties, Young ladies ranging in age from 8 to 13 singing The Star Spangled Banner.

The performance was at the Texas Tech vs Texas basketball game January 20, 2008 in front of over 11,000 people.

These young girls can REALLY sing!

There’s something wrong with that video. It made my monitor get blurry...

That was good, but the absolute best rendition was done by Sandy Patty during the Statue or Liberty Centennial. I remember watching it at the folks’ house in the woods of Pennsylvania. I believe we were watching the ABC network. She sang all of the verses and each verse was sung in a higher key. It was outstanding.

"But I’ve always argued it should be changed to Ray Charles’ America the Beautiful"

I love that and unless Emmylou Harris has done it,(I'm still looking) I would agree with you.

That was very good...but the best Anthem rendition I’ve ever heard was an a cappella version at the opening of a Huey Lewis & The News concert in the late 1980s.
