COTTONWOOD, Minn. -- Authorities have confirmed that the the driver of the van that struck the school bus that killed 4 students on Tuesday is an illegal alien.
Officials at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement are checking to see where she came from and how long she's been in Minnesota. FOX 9 has also learned that the name she gave to police, Alainiss Morales, is an alias.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who has has publicly stated his concern for the "growing harassment" and "frank persecution" of Mexicans in the United States, will make his first official visit to California Wednesday and will meet with immigrant leaders among others. Speaking to the Mexican government's migrant assistance agency in November, his comments about "persecution" appear to have been aimed at U.S. presidential candidates who voiced their desire to curb illegal immigration. He also expressed disappointment at Congress' inability to agree on an immigration reform measure. While in the Golden State, he will address the state Legislature and attend a private lunch meeting with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, and other officials. These stories are so frustrating. There are so many unanswered questions, and I doubt anyone in media is going to do much to answer them. Why did she run the stop sign? Did she not see it? Was she drunk? Does she speak so little English that she doesn’t understand “STOP”? Who hired her at the Jennie-O plant? Did they know she was illegal?
Back to the accident, if she was drunk, or couldn’t comprehend the sign, then this is much worse. I think what the pro-illegal people say is that as a group, the illegals don’t commit crime, or traffic fatalities any more than homegrown Americans. There seem to be few statistics comparing the two groups, as it’s pretty hard to gather data on illegals, as half the time you don’t know who’s illegal and who’s not.
My gut tells me, though, that as a group, illegals commit crimes, get drunk, crash cars, kill other motorists, and otherwise raise hell far in excess of Americans, as a percentage. I have no facts to back that up, but that’s what my gut tells me.
Those are infuriating statistics, but you know what adds insult to injury? If American citizens killed 9,000 illegal aliens every year, the media would be screaming it from the rooftops. We'd never hear the end of it. There'd be a Time Magazine cover story entitled "The War Against Immigrants" and every presidential candidate would have spoken out on the issue, wringing their hands in horror at the reign of terror being inflicted on the illegals. The networks would be doing running body counts like they do for Iraq. But when 9,000 Americans are killed by illegals annually, it barely makes a blip
Local TV here in Minneapolis is reporting they don’t even know who this woman is. She has two state ID cards, with different weights and heights. These kids are dead, and the state has no idea of the killer’s identity.
It's not washing the dishes that's the crime. If that illegal alien dishwasher used someone else's ID to acquire his job (ID theft), then that's a crime. If the employer, knowing that the job applicant was an illegal alien (conspiracy to violate federal immigration laws), then that's a crime. If the illegal alien dishwasher is paid in cash and doesn't report his earnings to the IRS (income tax evasion), then that's a crime, etc.
If Manson had been an illegal and the Beatles had enabled him to be here then there might be a connection to the topic.
I find it interesting that those who oppose illegal immigration oppose all illegal immigration from all countries- yet it seems nearly all of the supporters of illegal immigration single out illegals from Mexico. It is clear it is special treatment they really want. I am not sure why they feel they alone should get special treatment.
Van driver that killed young Americans, was, of course an illegal invader.
