NOW THAT HE'S SECURED NOMINATION: NYT DOWNLOADS ON MCCAIN
now begins the drip..drip..drip
Expect more of the same on a regular basis.
The New York Times may have done what McCain has not been able to do, unite Conservatives behind him.
Where's the sarcasm tag? You gotta be kidding! This 'sealed the deal'?...because of your 'outrage'?! Hard to believe a liberal newspaper would try to harm a Republican candidate...never in a million years!
This story is irrelevent to the many reasons NOT to vote for McCain. You're outrage sounds phony. Vote third party.
I have ZERO respect for dobson. ZERO!!
“I’ve got one question: Is this stuff true? If it is, I’m not inclined to shoot the messenger since it would be a waste of both time and ammo. So I’m waiting to see if it’s true. If it is, McCain’s got only himself to blame. Not the MSM.”
The New York Times had been sitting on this story since December but obviously held off only to ensure that McCain would win the nomination first. So they are to blame for the timing.
I have no respect for him, either, but plenty of people do, to the extent that a few words by him about Thompson’s Christianity or lack thereof was a major reason that his campaign tanked while Huckabee’s rose.
McCain is in trouble with hard core evangelicals, who are the kind of principled people who will not go to the polls unless there is someone to vote FOR, rather than against. We’ve seen this in the last several elections.
McCain may at some point be able to consolidate the fiscal and security wings of the conservative base, but that matters for naught if the social conservatives stay home because they cannot stomach voting for a purported adulterer.
The interesting thing here is that they wait, to come out with this, until he has “apparently secured the nomination” as it is propounded by some.
Please man , he’s toast ,,get real .
Hmmm... “day follows night” ... wonderful news ... yawn.
No more talk. Everybody contact the trolls working at this daily piece of toilet paper.

I just did.
I despise McCain. But this tells a lot about the NYT. They’ve had this crap for eight years and deliberately picked now to throw it on him. They could have done this a long time ago.
Swine versus swine. Be careful who you lay down with Johnny. And who you spit at.
This was so predictable.
The maverick is starting to find out about his friends in the MSM.
Hang on John, “You ain’t seen, read or heard all that will be coming down from your beloved MSM.
You are right about that, and you are right about Thompson too. If Fred had that support instead of Huckabe Fred would be rolling toward the nomination in a big way.
Huh?
If the NYT came out with a story that painted McCain as a saint, it wouldn't unite the conservatives behind him.
Bill Keller made a statement that this story reached his desk for the first time Tuesday. Bill Barnicle from the Boston Globe and many others dispute this statement. It’s been common knowledge that the NYT’s had this story and sat on it at least since December. Timing is everything. If the NYT had published this story in December, McCain would not have won the NH primary.
My guess is Keller has stepped into it bigtime. LOL. What did he (Keller) know and when did he know it????
That’s the meat of this little hit job.
The NYT’s has manipulated the Republican nominating process.
That's harsh language. The Politically Correct term for "complete fool" is "moderate Republican who hopes to build a new electoral coalition that doesn't include traditional conservatives".
This goes back to at least 1999 , 2000 so my Feb 1998 date isn’t out of line...
Don't forget - It's only a month ago that the NY Times endorsed McCain.
And this dirt on him was well known by them at the time they made the decision to back him.
Of course, that was when they wanted to help him knock out republicans that might stand a real chance of actually winning the presidential election by defeating Hillary or Obama.
