I’m sure this was a demonstration of anti-missile tech for the benefit of Putin and the Iranians primarily. All the pre-shoot publicity is exhibiting a high degree of confidence of success. If we thought there was much of a chance of missing, we either would not have done it or it would not have been announced until it was done.I think now ABMs are a functioning reality. ICBMs and lesser missiles are a bit less useful than previously.

My Dad was a yougnster in Newark when that broadcast was made. The panic was real and several people died when their cars crashed as they sped out of town!!

Yea I’m sure the seas were extraordinarily smooth, the satellite flashed it’s beacon light and made guiding transmissions to the missile during launch. No big deal. /s
