Wow I guess others had the same attitude as I did....A fun place to visit but could not afford to buy their product.....
If you like geek-tech toys, you’ll probably like thinkgeek.com - it’s a site dedicated to geek toys. Lots of cool stuff for the office and intra-office warfare, LOL.
That was the problem. You'd look at their catalogue and say, "That looks cool. How much is it? Whoa!" Not that they had to sell cheap stuff, but couldn't they come down a little?
Note he said nose hair, not body hair.
Yes. At their store, I'd actually have to walk AWAY from that display, because the smell emanating from the units was so bad. And S.I. seemed to invest everything in that product, since it was the only one (I think) to be shown in a commercial.
How is it possible for these stores to be so mismanaged? And the problems so apparent to US, but not to them?
LMAO!!! < :D
I don’t know about appliances, but Kohl’s has great prices on clothes.
Yep, that's what Owens Corning did when I worked there. All that asbestos liability. Now they're out of Chapter 11 and doing quite well, it appears. Did take 2-3 years longer to re-emerge from Chp. 11 than they had hoped, but better late than never.
They might be back.
There stock is under 50 cents today, a year ago it was in the 10 to 12 dollar range, four years ago it was over 35 dollars.
Back in 2002 when K-Mart filed for bankruptcy, its stock was under a dollar a share. K-Mart is now traded as Sears Holding and it's stock is around $100 per share and has been nearly double that in the past year.
In short, it may not be a horrible idea to buy a couple hundred dollars worth of Sharper Image stock.
Love thinkgeek stuff. Got a Wi-Fi detector t-shirt for Christmas. Also got a shirt that simply reads, “I have a shotgun, a short temper, and a raised floor in my server room. Do not trifle with me.” :-)

KMart cancelled all the old common stock and reissued new shares for the reorganized company to the creditors. The owners of the old shares got nothing.
Guess I should expect to see a reduction in their annoying emails ...or maybe I’ll see even more of it.
Oops, I was totally unaware of that.
Less catologs (they cost well over a dollar each to produce and mail), a lot more emails (they are basically free).
Do you really sit around hoping for stores to go out of business? Other than Build a Bear, which detracts directly from my personal happiness because the mom in the family lacks the good sense to avoid it(May it's owners burn in hell), I can't imagine a store that's presence bothers me in the slightest. And Radio Shack is da bomb. Where else would you go, other than perhaps the Internet, to get little jacks and switches?
My first 'pooter. Good times. Good times.
(BTW, DAK's still around!)
It works too!
Chinese knockoff’s. ;)

Good.
They used be ahead of the curve selling innovative items.
Then they hooked on te easy fraud money of “ionic air cleaners” and slowly it infested the business and became the core of the business and eventually they deserved to go bankrupt as there was no substance left.
