Few realize how dangerously close America came to discarding its way of government during its last presidential cycle. Had Al Gore not finally conceded America could have entered very murky territory. The kind of territory where power isn't voluntarily handed over. However, an even more dangerous event is on the horizon.
Hillary could well be on a path that could prove to be very dangerous. It's hard for most to understand how badly the Clintons want back in power. It might well be the Florida and Michigan fiascos were engineered by the Clinton campaign in conjunction with the DNC (which will eventually capitulate to the Clintons commands for those precious delegates) as a sort of backup plan. It looks like they will indeed be calling in those markers. However, that is not true danger as undemocratic as that maybe.
The Clinton campaign could be contemplating "stealing" the nomination from Obama using very undemocratic tactics such as what we see happening with Florida and Michigan, and it would seem they are now lobbying delegates of all kinds, including those that originally went for Obama. So what's the danger?
The Democratic Party is supposed to be party of the minorities, especially black voters. However, the Hillary camp, if it succeeds, will clearly have stolen the nomination, and likely the Presidency from the very first black candidate, Barack Obama. The black voter will see this for what it truly is, a Good Ol' boy network yanking the carpet out from under their feet, against their will, discarding their votes, and what will ensue will be cataclysmic rioting and outrage as has not been seen in America before. The black voters of America will have been shafted by their own party and this will cut very deeply. It will truly be the crime of century.
The Clintons are desperate for the White House, while much talk has been made about a brokered convention, I dare say that could be the best outcome, indeed, a far more dangerous event is looming on the horizon, one that could be avoided if a sense of Honor, Democracy, and Fair Play were simply obeyed.
An AR-15 is a fairly effective way to protect your property. It worked just fine for the Korean merchants after the Rodney King riots broke out. Don't expect the cops to protect your property. There's not enough of them to deal with a large scale riot.
I wouldn't. I couldn't care less what these socialists do to each other. As a matter of fact, if it will prolong their agony, I welcome her stealing it. The Democrat party needs a good blood letting.
not likely. cooler heads will prevail. there are some adults left in the DNC
It would be nice to see them turn on each other like rats, wouldn't it?
That rumor has never been proven yet.
Yeah, but the children are in charge.
You make a compelling point. This was a good thread.
As much as I'd like to see a crisis erupt in the middle of the Democratic party over the super-delegate issue, I don't think it will happen. If she loses the nomination, Hillary will go off and sulk and be content to be the junior US Senator from New York for as long as Chuck Schumer stays in Congress. No riots, no black-kerchiefed anarchist moonbats running through the streets lighting cars on fire like it was an ordinary summer evening in Paris France.
Sure would be fun to watch, though. I'm comfortably nestled high atop a wooded mountain pass in one of the most remote parts of this nation and could hardly care less about what might happen in Baltimore or Chicago if Hillary steals the nomination.
Hubert Humphrey didn’t win one primary and got the nod.
With Dems...it has nothing to do with winning primaries.

The actual bill doesn’t say that at all. Read it here:

Not to argue over semantics, but it’s really more a foreign policy issue than an economic policy.
LOL
Where I live there’s a very large percentage of the “Black” population that’s well employed, hard working, reasonably well educated, churched and “Democrat”? Probably, but you just have to believe that as they look at this debacle with the Dems and their party rules and super delegates and caucuses, brokered deals and broken rules etc. they have to begin to wonder if they couldn’t get a better deal from the Republican party. If this exercize proves something, it proves that the Dems are definitely not the party of “fairness” for all!
Sure would. I'm more afraid it won't happen than it will but I just got a glimmer of "hope". Lanny Davis was just on Hannity justifying the Clintons going nuclear with the super delegates. So maybe they're laying the groundwork. I'd cancel a vacation to be able to watch this. When is the RAT convention?
“It’s going to hard for Hillary to stop Obama before the nomination but I suspect the Clintons will work overtime to assure that Obama loses in the general election. An Obama loss in the general election would serve the Clintons well and could salvage something from a bad situation. First, it would satisfy the Clintons’ vindictiveness. Second, it would open the 2012 Democrat nomination for Hillary”
Yes, I think you’re “spot on” there. This certainly wasn’t her first choice, but I think she may now have to resort to this plan. I agree if she’s not the nominee she will work to take Obama down behind the scenes and come back in 2012.
Your link doesn’t work. My info comes from talk radio (Quinn and Rose) that has stated we are agreeing by passing it to devote a %age of our GNP every year to be distributed by the UN as foreign aid on top of what we already spend for foreign aid presently. Supposedly it also contains an agreement to ratify the Kyoto treaty, the ICC, the convention on children’s rights, the women’s rights convention, the small arms convention, etc.
My biggest question will be;
Should I use salted butter or unsalted, Movie style or regular fluffy white, both very difficult decisions.
And which channel, so many to choose from......
If there were some clear and understood method and rationale for appointing the SuperDelegates (e.g. saying that every Democrat governor can choose SuperDelegates equal to 10% of his state's delegate count, and each state gets 10% bonus delegates to be appointed as the Democrats in its legislature see fit) that would fit nicely with the notion of a Republic. But the perception at least is that the SuperDelegates are selected by those Democrats already in control of the party.
Jesse Jackson and Alan Keyes weren't candidates?
Sorry about that link. Try this:

Then go to the Thomas link:
Then put in the the bill number S2433. This Act may be cited as the `Global Poverty Act of 2007’.
Hopefully that will work. If it doesn’t and you want the total text of the bill, let me know.
