Anyone who thinks the idea of Islamofascism is a recent invention will be surprised by the series of quotes Andrew Bostom has upturned from early 20th century intellectuals linking Islam with totalitarianism.

Fundamentalist Islam maintains control of and supplants the human spirit and the ability to think rationally. It is how Muhammad was able to form his armies. It seems to be just as useful in the same manner now. The constant drumbeat of physical and oral repetition on a daily basis of Quranic scripture leaves no room for anything else.
The Nazis were no Muslims, but the Islamofascists have certainly got the evil of Nazism in itself.
The greatest and bloodiest bigotry that exist today in the world is ISLAMIC BIGOTRY.
