McCain wins Wisconsin per all news outlets. He is giving a great speech now.
Apparently FR is not what it once was. Oh well. I love a good controversy.
“What they voted for was a Muslim constitution that places Islam as the highest law. “
You dodged my question and unfairly attempt to paint Iraq as a mob-rule type of Democracy that practices takfir (takfir is specifically prohibited per the Iraq Constitution).
“Iraq is less important than the immediate security of the United States.”
Our success in Iraq is directly tied to the security of the U.S. The fact that you don’t believe this, while simultaneously campaining against the one candidate that intends on winning in Iraq, speaks volumes.
insane if you ask me.
Bravissimo!!! to both of you.
Amen, FRiend. Great post in #34. And I love your tagline! ;-)
Read Article 2A of the Iraqi Constitution.
“Our success in Iraq is directly tied to the security of the U.S. The fact that you dont believe this, while simultaneously campaining against the one candidate that intends on winning in Iraq, speaks volumes.”
If we are unwilling to engage - or even name - the enemy in this war...
Wait, you actually think that Iraq is the MOST important national security action over and above the actual security of United States territory? Concentrating on Iraq and ignoring the WIDER WAR is blindness.
“insane if you ask me”
Yes, the State Department is insane.
Can I ask you a question? How did you feel when, not just once - but TWICE - they tried to push amnesty down our throats? Honestly, how did you feel?
The best reason and of course his Supreme Court nominations have a hope of being somewhat better than Hillary’s or Obama’s would be.
I’ll answer..I did not like it one bit but I am not ready to let the Presidency go to Hillary of Obams over it if I can help it.
not good. But I realize that we may be in World War 3. and we can not afford to surrender or retreat.
I'm assuming you're old enough to know how elections work.
If you didn't "WIN" it's because your view didn't prevail.
My take on this election? I think the American public is turning-in a referendum.
They are sick and tired of the bickering and fighting. On the Dem side, they've found a new messiah. On the Pubbie side, they're sending in the old war horse. They don't care about the attacks. They don't want to hear it.
Damn, BlackElk! That’s some tagline you have!
You do know how the primary system works, right? The views I supported were forced to drop out by voters in states other than mine - liberal states. McCain started his lead in delegates in winner-take-all BLUE STATES.
“They are sick and tired of the bickering and fighting. On the Dem side, they’ve found a new messiah. On the Pubbie side, they’re sending in the old war horse. They don’t care about the attacks. They don’t want to hear it.”
You do know McCain has only gotten 30% (last I checked) or so of the primary vote, right? Not exactly a clear message that we want more of the same “moderate” Republicans and really want the “old war horse” who pushed the bill the entire country hated....
Yeah. Me too. Happens to me in almost every election!
“Yeah. Me too. Happens to me in almost every election!”
It happened a LOT earlier this time. The Party has allowed states that do not give electoral votes to its candidates to decide its candidate. Brilliant... if your goal is to help the other side win.
“Read Article 2A of the Iraqi Constitution.”
I did. That is why I cited the banning of takfir.
“Wait, you actually think that Iraq is the MOST important national security action over and above the actual security of United States territory?”
Again, the success of U.S. forces in the middle east is vital to the national security of the U.S. The fact that you don’t accept this explains why you signed up to campain against the one candidate that understands this.
This part I don't understand: The Party has allowed states that do not give electoral votes to its candidates to decide its candidate. Brilliant... if your goal is to help the other side win.
It’s too late. One can look at the numbers of democrats voting and the numbers (or lack of) of republicans voting in the primaries & it isn’t hard to see that there is no mathematical possibility of McCain winning. Sure, if he’s running against Hillary he might have a chance, but it looks like Obama is squashing her chances.
And don’t tell me you really think the media is going to lay off of McCain once he is the nominee? He is the worst candidate we could have up there. NO ONE is happy about it, but many of you will vote for him to keep the other side from winning. I call that surrender & retreat.
I never could see how the Nazi party took a hold in Germany & how the people just stood back and let all of it happen - but I’m starting to understand it all a lot better now. It’s amazing to watch. As far as the war in Iraq - I’m sick of it dragging on. We should have gone in there & kicked ass right off the bat, instead of keeping it going on & on & Hey! Right before an election - there’s a surge that’s really working & we sure can’t get out of there now. I say bring our soldiers home, they’ve sacrificed enough - the Iraqis need to do it on their own now.
I know you’ll attack me for saying what I think, I really don’t care. Reading some of the posts here tonight has sickened me.
