McCain wins Wisconsin per all news outlets. He is giving a great speech now.
Why?
“Which is more important, the security of the United States or the security of an Iran-friendly Muslim regime created by the State Department? “
No, the U.S. did not create the pro-western democratic goverment of Iraq. The Iraqis freely choose this during the elections. The pretext of your arguement abides by the isolationist mindset of the left, that what goes on over there does not threaten the security of the U.S. Is this an accuate interpretation of your views, or do you believe that success in Iraq is vital to the security of the U.S.?
“What a highly articluated response that supports, without a doubt, your accusation that McCain is a communist./s”
He’s as much a communist as Hillary is. In fact, he’s stated she’d make a fine President, hasn’t he?
We should have known, all along. If this election has taught us anything, it is: spending our time talking to ourselves on chat boards does not get people elected.
It hurts to be bypassed. It really does. We all think we know what is best, and we're all befuddled when the rest don't see our point of view. We missed the big picture -- the parade passed us by.
I didn't vote for him in my primary. But I am an American first.
When it comes down to helping the right guy in a choice between two, I will help John McCain.
Yep and now it’s time for Mike Huckabee to get real and drop out of the race. He’s starting to become a real embarrassment.
Let's at least understand each other, I'm not trying to convince you or any other whiner here to change your vote. I know that when spoiled children take a stand like you have you aren't going to change your mind.
What I am doing is what you and other whiners here do when you express your negative opinion about McCain only I'm letting you know my negative opinion about people like you that will take your ball and go home when things don't go your way.
As a matter of fact instead of you coming back and telling me I told you so, whether McCain wins or not us Republicans just might have moved to get rid of the myth that the base of the party is people like you that will run like a spoiled child when things don't go your way.
There is a contrast when it comes to the persian gulf and the protection of Israel.
“Yeah, I was kind of wondering that too, all these freepers who say they wont vote for McCain, are they going to pay my tax bill or look our troops in the eye and tell them why we surrendered Iraq?”
They can all start by explaining it to my husband who is in Iraq now on his second tour and my son who just returned from his first...I would really like to know too......God Bless Our Troops
What's up with that? :)
Then why are you here? I ask this in all seriousness. If nothing can be done, and all 3 candidates would do identical damage to the nation, what is the point of running around in circles and throwing your hands up in defeat? What is it that you're trying to accomplish?
Give my best and thanks to your son.
My wife and I say Go Army!
What they voted for was a Muslim constitution that places Islam as the highest law. Allowing “democracy!” to reign was a mistake. “Democracy!” leads to tyranny every time. The Founding Fathers knew that.
“The pretext of your arguement abides by the isolationist mindset of the left, that what goes on over there does not threaten the security of the U.S. Is this an accuate interpretation of your views, or do you believe that success in Iraq is vital to the security of the U.S.?”
“Isolationist mindset of the left” - that’d be the traditional Republican position, then. Iraq is less important than the immediate security of the United States. In fact, if the the real enemy is not actually engaged, instead of this nibbling around the edges of the war, Iraq will be remembered just as the Spanish Civil War for a new World War II.
“Then why are you here? I ask this in all seriousness. If nothing can be done, and all 3 candidates would do identical damage to the nation, what is the point of running around in circles and throwing your hands up in defeat? What is it that you’re trying to accomplish?”
They all must be opposed.
What? The US Government has no intention of “protecting Israel”. The State Department supports the Palestinians at the behest of the Saudis. I expect, sadly, that McCain will continue that policy.
Can’t say. But, I’ve been called a liberal tonight. I was also accused of making the statement that waterboarding doesn’t work (something I didn’t say - but when these people allow their emotions to take over, they’ll say anything that pops into their little brains). I find it rather amusing to be called a liberal, especially given the fact that I’m probably more conservative than the one who called me that.
Agreed. That’s why I go to DC periodically.
“I didn’t vote for him in my primary. But I am an American first.”
You would vote for a man who agrees with Juan Hernandez? You know, “Mexico First”!? When does the nose-holding end?
Hey, I got slammed by an “Obama Girl” on FR last week. You just can’t tell...
I also understand. I’d prefer to have a truely conservative candidate too. Thanks for the kind words, and I’ll let my son know. The motto of the 2nd BCT is “Ready Now”, while the motto of the 10th Mountain is “Climb to Glory”.
McCain’s camp made a good decision to start attacking Obama. Hillary is about done. Hopefully Huckabee will stay in and provide McCain with an opportunity for free speech time to keep pecking away at Obama’s inexperience on foreign policy.
One additional thought here.
McCain represents the vote-expressed wishes of a minority of the party and independents. That’s how conservatives were “bypassed”. Of course, the dual claim that we’re irrelevant and yet we MUST VOTE OR ELSE rings hollow. Both can’t be true.
