He should.

“The real issue is national security. There is no comparing a Democrat Commander in Chief with McCain in that position. With Iraq is becoming a winning situation, why are so many conservatives willingly joining liberals in making believe the War on Terror is over and we can start spending the “peace dividend?””

Which is more important, the security of the United States or the security of an Iran-friendly Muslim regime created by the State Department? What defines the “war on terror” with you? Iraq or the Saudi-Iran axis of evil?

McCain wants terrorists tried in our courts and wants the border left open. He’s no different than the rest of them.

“I’m 100% pro life. McCain is about 95% pro life. Either Democrat is zero pro life and in fact Obama supported a bill to euthanize inconvenient born babies.”

McCain is pro-Roe v Wade.

“We won’t get a truly conservative president this time. We can always rebuild the conservative movement during and after McCain, but we can never rebuild America after Democrats destroy our America.”

Not without a party. A McCain victory would destroy that.

The prospect of a Barack Obama Presidency keeps me up at night.

And I even have a warm bed with a cuddly wife to snuggle up with. LOL

“I’ll try to convince you, with reason and good-natured persuasion, to join with the team, to win this election. Then we can hash out how to elect a *real* conservative (or constitutional libertarian, in my case) in 2012.”

Far better approach than most McCain supporters. No nuke pictures. The problem here is that a reasonable argument can be made that McCain would be more successful at implementing his liberal policies, as he’d have both parties supporting him. Just look at how much more successful Bush has been implementing Clintonoid policies (not that rank-and-file Democrats are smart enough to notice)?

If McCain wants our support, he should actually start working for it, not just giving speeches.

Step 1: completely repudiate and FIRE Juan Hernandez from his staff.

After that, we’ll see about step 2.

“Of course you took my statement out of context “

I did? How so? Also, explain how premature withdrawl from Iraq won’t benifit our enemies in the middle east.

“AND didn’t quote the entire concept.”

Explain how premature withdrawl from Iraq won’t benifit our enemies in the middle east. (See if you can do it without pretending that transfering troops to southern boarder will prevent an Iranian takeover of Iraq).

“Funny how those backing a liberal act just like liberals. (Name calling and spinning statements.)”

Here you accuse me of namecalling. Prove it.

Just wanted you to know, that not everyone here is as rude and obnoxious as a lot of the people are on this thread.

Welcome to FreeRepublic!

I’ve been here a few years & I thought the Rudybot threads were bad - but these McCain threads are the worst I’ve ever seen. I don’t like John McCain & I will not vote for him. I’ve been called a defeatist idiot, I’ve been told that I’m going to hell, I’ve been told to leave, to get lost...etc.

You are 1000% correct - as a conservative, I’ve been told that I am in the minority & completely irelevant - but because I won’t vote for Juan McCain - I will be responsible for President Obama or Clinton!

I used to like this site because I felt I was among like-minded people, but lately - I’ve been getting definite messages to just leave.

The last two times they tried to force amnesty on us - everyone on this site was all torn up about it - I read figures that 80% of the American people were strongly against it - but now Freepers are willing to just forget about it - just so the stinkin’ republican party can win.

I got off on a tangent there, I just wanted to welcome you to the site - there are still some of us that put principles over party. I’ll get made fun of for saying that, just like I would if I said it over at dummie underground - which this place is starting to sound a lot like.

“Having spent time in a communist prison does not make one “not a communist”.”

What a highly articluated response that supports, without a doubt, your accusation that McCain is a communist./s

It’s nice to know that there are a few others who can call upon reason when considering this election and the future of our nation. Thanks for your comments.

Do you?

None of the three left in the race have any interest in defending the territorial integrity of the United States nor do they have any stated interest in finally dealing with the central nation of the Islamic enemy - Saudi Arabia.
