One thing I have noticed with a lot of you people that are supporting McCain - when people don't agree with you, you call them stupid childish names.

People backing a liberal are acting like liberals. No suprise, really.

I’ve seen the photo. My concern is for common human decency and compassion for those who haven’t, or for his family members who don’t want to run into the photo unexpectedly. It really is that simple.

“I’d say go ahead and bring the troops home “

No wonder your campaining against McCain. Your defeatist mindset would hand Iraq over to Iran.

While everyone is nitpicking which liberal should be in the WH, they are ignoring the very serious implications for the future.

You/they can stick their heads in the sand and pretend that McCain will be another Reagan and save us - but I prefer to face the facts and see the entire forest, not just concentrate on a few trees.

And the main issue is that with McCain in office, the Rs will follow him over the cliff. With a Dem in office, they’ll have the backbone to oppose them. We need as many Rs in congress as we can get - and a Dem in the WH so we’ll have gridlock on amnesty and other McCain policies. A McCain presidency will ensure the next 4 go to a Dem. And that’s more likely when the SC will have openings.

McCain will kill what’s left of conservatism. And many here are happy to go along with it.

Of course you took my statement out of context AND didn’t quote the entire concept.

Funny how those backing a liberal act just like liberals. (Name calling and spinning statements.)

Sad isn't it? It's been this way ever since I've been here. It's perfectly fine to disagree, but I'll never understand the need for name calling. I'm struggling because my gut tells me to sit this one out. Show conservatives (if there are really any left) that we MUST find viable candidates in the future. Someone who will stand on principles, not polls. The Republican party in my opinion is imploding. It's been coming for a while and our choices this time around are evidence of that. At the same time I think about what is actually worse...McCain or Obama. Clearly, Obama. So, I'm on the fence at the moment.

OK before you accuse me of confusing John McCain with the greatest President since Abraham Lincoln, please breathe.

Think nice happy thoughts.

Whatever makes you happy. Puppies maybe. Fast cars. Fishing.

OK now. Please. Get a grip. McCain isn’t the enemy.

He’s a bit of a centrist. Yes, that’s clear. But he’s brave, and driven, and just might kick the bejeebers, out of either of the democrats.

That would be a good thing. :)

“So you most likely have some strong opinions of RKBA. It would seem obvious, you would have no need to quote others, or point to McCain. Should be simple, and interesting to all of us, if you would please tell us humble readers, your thoughts on the Second Amendment. In some length.”

Why? Length is not necessary. Nor does it lend anymore weight to the argument than quoting the operative clause of the 2nd Amendment. I believe as Tench Coxe: “Every terrible implement of the soldier is the birthright of every American.” Do you?

“In your own words, what are your thoughts on the Second Amendment. What is the meaning of “militia”?”

The people in general. Specific militias may be called out. Of course, that’s merely provided as a reason why the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

“Are handguns, different from long guns under the Amendment?”

No. Why would they?

“How about new firearms? Is an AR-15 covered”

Yes and so is an M16. My current preference, as far as mouseguns are concerned, is the Rock River A2, but I’ve had good experiences with an ancient Harrington & Richardson M16A2.....

“A flintlock?”

Yes.

really?

you honestly think he can beat Obama?

I’m not so sure. I think an Obama candidacy is going to get young people and minorities out in numbers we haven’t seen in a long time, if ever.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he even sucked in some moderate Republicans.

Obama’s message of change for however lame we think it is, will resonate with certain groups. It will energize and charge a lot of people.

Frankly, he scares me.

“Hey Noob, John McCain is not a communist. In fact, he spent time in a communist prision. What a silly post on your part!”

Having spent time in a communist prison does not make one “not a communist”.

His liberal record proves that well enough.

“We can’t fight a war with an open border - it’s ludicrous”

Right, because so many of the 911 hijackers came in from Mexico.

Pretty good answers, actually.

I’ll try to convince you, with reason and good-natured persuasion, to join with the team, to win this election. Then we can hash out how to elect a *real* conservative (or constitutional libertarian, in my case) in 2012.

Welcome to FR. Look forward to the odd dustup. :)

I saw our next President on that stage tonight. In my home state.

God has a way with blessing us with the right man at the right time.
