Bill Clinton Lashes Out at Pro-Life Advocates During Ohio Stop for Hillary (Franciscan Univ)

Steubenville, OH (LifeNews.com) -- Former president Bill Clinton made a campaign stop for Hillary in Steubenville, Ohio on Sunday and found himself greeted by more than 100 pro-life students from nearby Steubenville University. According to eye witnesses accounts, Clinton lost his temper and lashed out at the pro-life students during the speech.

Clinton's heated response came after being questioned on his support of abortion-on-demand.

"I gave you the answer. We disagree with you," Clinton said about the position he and Hillary Clinton hold on abortion.

Clinton relied on the old argument that pr-life advocates want to put women in prison, even though abortion bans have never targeted women because they are a second victim in the abortion process.

"You want to criminalize women and their doctors and we disagree,” he said of the pro-life advocates.

“If you were really pro-life, if you were really pro-life, you would want to put every doctor and every mother as an accessory to murder in prison. And you won't say you want to do that because you know that because you know that you wouldn't have a lick of political support,” he added.

Clinton claimed his police and those that Hillary Clinton supports are doing more to reduce abortions even though both have steadfastly opposed bills to limit abortions, such as a ban on partial-birth abortions not spending taxpayer money on abortions.

“Now, the issue is you can't name me anybody presently in politics that did more to introduce policies that reduce the number of real abortions instead of the hot air putting out to tear people up and make votes by dividing America,” he said.

Billy Valentine, one of the Franciscan University of Steubenville students who helped organize the protest, told LifeNews.com that he was surprised Clinton would go to Steubenville after hundreds of students told John Kerry he was wrong on supporting abortion.

“Perhaps national Democrats will finally realize that they can't take the heat from Steubenville pro-life students," he said.

"I have been amazed by the stupidity of these pro-abortion Democrats who think they can come campaign anywhere near Steubenville, especially after the utter embarrassment John Kerry went through in 2004 when he came here,” he added.

Later, Clinton said Hillary should become the Democratic nominee because she will stand up to pro-life advocates.

“This is not your rally. I heard you. That's another thing you need is a president, somebody who will stick up for individual rights and not be pushed around, and she won't,” he said.

I’m with you as far as destroying the baby murder industry. And you’re ‘probly right about treating the mother as a secondary victim in order to get to the “bigger fish” of the abortionist as a practical matter. But I disagree about not punishing a woman who willingly aborts on her own when that evidence presents itself, and I don’t care if that has never been done before. Lots of things had to happen for the first time, however difficult or strange it seemed. The unborn are people, and it shouldn’t matter who murders them, that person should be punished.

Sounds just like what he always says. You want to do (fill in something extreme), but you wont say that’s what you want to do because you’re dishonest, and you oppose my policy because you want to divide america.

I sometimes wonder if during Bubba’s quadruple bypass operation, Bubba’s brain suffered an oxygen deprivation. Nothing else makes much sense.:)

I actually think it's the syphilis. Finally made it to his brain.

God Bless the young-uns at Steubenville!

They handed Kerry’s fanny to him in ‘04, and they got Bill’s face all red. Excellent!

My niece will be joining their ranks in the fall.

Goody! Just in time for the presidential election!

“(It IS their rally: You came to THEIR town!)”

LOL!
point well taken!

But not by the Clintons.
In their world it IS THEIR RALLY! And IT WILL BE THEIR TOWN!

It is their destiny...it is owed to them because they’ve wanted it so bad their whole lives.

The little people who happen to live there don’t mean anything.

“If only every town and city that had a Catholic college in it were as “in your face” with abortion-pushing scoundrels like the Clintons....”

And that is the difference between a catholic college that actually strives to uphold catholic teaching and pass it on to the students as opposed to catholic colleges that think academic “freedom” and “diversity” means open hostility to church teachings should be welcomed to accomodate “dialogue”

You can bet this ain’t no “Jesuit run” college.

I imagine the good folks at Ave Maria in Florida would have given Billy a similar reception.

Yes, isn’t that what they say, but Mr. Clinton’s actions tell the truth.

Once again, you need the woman to be seen in the eyes of the law as the victim of the crime, since (after the flush) she's the only victim left.

I'm sorry but that is very tortured logic, makes pro-lifers seem at best unsophisticated and simple or at worst disingenuous. Ultimately, it plays into the hands of the pro-abortionists.

You can't consider abortion murder but then automatically assign one of the agents of the murder "a victim" because it makes your position more politically appealing.

Would the mother of a 1 year old child be considered a "victim" if she felt the child was an inconvenience murdered it?

I love Franciscan U. of Steubenville, and I love its students! They really pulled Bubba’s chain! It got a lot of TV coverage, and it was great when the kid with the sign “Abortion Kills Children” turned around and faced the cameras. The message was loud and clear.

YAY, Steubenville!

Bubba sure looks like he’s about to blow a gasket in that photo.

I hope he doesn’t, because that would make the Hildebeast a sympathetic widow.

it’s not that we pro-lifers want to put anyone, mothers, doctors or anyone else, in prison.

I don't?

Sorry, I didn’t intend to speak for you. The goal, for me, is not to put anyone in jail, but for them not to kill unborn children. I don’t take much convincing that those who do it ought to be punished, but that doesn’t bring back the children who were killed.

" You can't consider abortion murder but then automatically assign one of the agents of the murder "a victim" because it makes your position more politically appealing. "

Well, politically speaking you have a choice. Would you rather (a) shut down the abortion industry by going after the providers, with post-abortion women as your allies turning state's evidence, and saving hundreds of thousands of lives, or (b) trying unsuccessfully to get convictions against post-abortion women, and saving nobody.

Because I assure you those are your choices. It is not possible to shut down the abortion industry without post-abortion women testifying against abortionists.

"Would the mother of a 1 year old child be considered a "victim" if she felt the child was an inconvenience murdered it?"

No. However, in this case it makes sense to prosecute the woman, because there would be other people (other than herself) who were aware of the child's physical being, his reality. There would be the child's father (maybe), grandparents, siblings, neighbors, relatives and frinds; there would be the OB/GYN who delivered the child, a birth certificate, a hospital record, a Social Security number, a name on an insurance form; there might be a pediatrician or a daycare provider or somebody else who knew that the child even existed in the first place.

And a woman who murdered a one-year-old would have to get rid of the body, which would not be as easy as you might suppose: and the corpse could be autopsied, cause of death determined, and the murderous mother prosecuted accordingly.

None of this is necessarily true for an unborn baby. Nobody need know he even existed except his mother. And in an early abortion there's no way to prove whether it was an abortion or a spontaneous miscarriage, and the remains can be disposed of a easily as couple ounces of chicken liver.

You want to make the prosecution of the woman a part of your political justice project? I'm here to tell you it will accomplish nothing. The professional chop-shop guys will be impossible to prosecute and free to pursue their careers as serial medical murderers.

That thought was on my mind when I saw him last week. He looked really rough up close - poor skin color, distended jugular veins. I have never found myself hoping for his good health, but she would wear a black pant suit to the inaugural ball.
