Top Clinton Adviser Says Superdelegates Will Decide Election, Obama's Victories 'Irrelevant'

Saturday , February 16, 2008

A top Hillary Clinton adviser on Saturday boldly predicted his candidate would lock down the nomination before the August convention by definitively winning over party insiders and officials known as superdelegates, claiming the number of state elections won by rival Barack Obama would be "irrelevant" to their decision.

The claims no doubt will escalate the war of words between the campaigns, as Obama continues to argue superdelegates should vote the way of their districts. But the special class of delegates, which make up about 20 percent of the total delegate haul, are not bound to vote the way of their states and districts, as pledged delegates are.

Obama leads handily in the pledged delegate count and has won more states but trails Clinton in superdelegates, making them potential and controversial deadlock-breakers if the race ends up a dead heat come convention time.

Harold Ickes, a 40-year party operative charged with winning over superdelegates for the Clinton campaign, made no apologies on Saturday for the campaign's convention strategy.

"We're going to win this nomination," Ickes said, adding that they would do so soon after the last contest on June 7 in Puerto Rico. "You're not going to see this go to the convention floor."

OK, how many of you Freeper Texans are voting for Hillary in the March primary? With her negative factors, I think that it is the winning strategy for a McCain (least of 3 evils) victory??

World Net Daily - Sandy Berger just hired former 9/11 Commissioner Lee Hamilton to work at Berger’s company, Stonebridge International

recent House Committee report, Berger had perpetrated “a disturbing breach of trust and protocol that compromised the nation’s national security,” a breach that had come at the expense of the 9/11 Commission’s very mission.

"As soon as Hillary completes her heist, I intend to go on all of the leftie boards and "quit" the Democratic party in disgust."

Be sure to call CSPAN on the dem-line, and do the "I've been a democrat all my my life BUT....."

Since CSPAN seems to give a "little" more "attention" to a blinking dem line call, I'm sure gonna give it a try when the time is right.

WOW! I wonder how many superdelegates will show up at the convention with broken legs and shattered kneecaps.

If this happens, it may finally convince blacks that the Dims are not their friends.

may be a hefty swing of black votes to republicans - after some hefty riots.

Buckle the seat belts. This may get bumpy - and I will enjoy every bit of it

I guess Hillary is spending her campaign money on German Shepherds to keep the delegates in line in Denver. If things start looking bad she's buy firehoses too.

I just Googled “Larry Sinclair” and “Obama.” There are now 13,600 references to articles containing both terms. Sinclair has accepted Parisi’s $10,000 offer to take a lie detector test and the $100,000 offer if he passes. This has the reek of the Witch all over it. She used Larry Flynt in exactly the same way to take down Republicans during the impeachment battle.

I’ve been a lurker on Free Republic for a long time and I can’t believe what I’ve reading here.
I’ve never been a fan of the Clinton’s but have none of you taken the time to read about this Messiah they’re pushing on the public and what he would do to this country if elected president?
I expect any day now that he’ll try and walk on water.
He’s scary and this country is too dumbed down to see it.
Sure...you’re getting your thrills from Hillary being speared but look what you’re getting in her place.

Clinton: "It's a fantasy..."

Dirty little Democrat Party secret: No way the white males that dominate the Democrat Party will let "it" happen. Minorities are for votes, not to have actual power.

Ickes wears his wings because his daddy used to empty FDR’s colostomy bag. He is the embodiment of everything which is bad and evil in American politics. His union work(as a lawyer/advisor for the big unions) has kept unions engaged in criminal enterprise for decades. His departure from this world do a lot for civilization.

If Obama has a legitimate lead in electoral votes, and the superdelegates decide for Hillary!, there’s going to be trouble.

Hugh and Series trouble.

They’re likely to riot even if the Witch “legitimately” wins the remaining primaries, because they will reasonably and understandably tag her with the Larry Sinclair smear, of which she and her minions are most likely the originators.

An oldie-but-goodie on Ickes from this link....

Special Report #2: Monica Says She Wrote Talking Points; Mary Jo Kopechne; Oval Office "Pillow Talk"; Harold Ickes and More

#Harold Ickes. Monica said she had him on her "list to avoid.""He's just strange," she said. "You could be the only person in the hall and you would pass Mr. Ickes in the hall and he would just glare at you. And I'd say "hello" ... and he'd just glare at you and walk past you. And I thought that was strange. Call me weird."

Don't hold your breath. At best, Clinton stealing the nomination will only convince Blacks to not vote in November and/or start a third party this election cycle and/or have a few riots.
