Multiple explosions are being reported at a south Texas gas pipeline. Authorities say some people are injured.
How the explosions happened isn't immediately clear.
Authorities are working to cordon off the area and put out a fire.
The explosions were reported near McCook, a town near the U.S. Mexico border.

Maybe is was Hillary’s head after she saw the latest poll numbers for Texas...
Definitely not a sign of terrorism. /s
Islamism until demonstrated otherwise.

McCOOK Firefighters were waiting until oil burns off inside a pipeline that exploded here today before trying to get closer to the blaze.
Black smoke rushed across a cloudy sky in northern Hidalgo County today, driven by winds gusting to 40 mph. Orange flames were visible in the air just over a rise.
One person on property adjacent to the explosion site was injured and is being treated, said Linn San Manuel Fire Department Chief Domingo Hinojosa Jr. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.
“We’re just waiting for the fire to burn down,” Hinojosa said. Firefighters shut off the flow of crude distillate oil about 10 miles down the pipeline and were waiting for the rest of the crude to burn off.
Hinojosa said he did not know who owned the pipeline or what caused the explosions at about 9:30 a.m.
Phyllis Pilarcyzk owner of the McCook Trading Post, said she knew little “except it was a big boom.” She described the rural farming community in northwest Hidalgo County as “30 miles from anything.”
Not a lot of info yet. The location is kind of isolated and the fire is hot! Hot! Not letting anyone closer than a mile. One injured and being treated on site.
Thanks for the more detailed report.
It’s windy in Hidalgo county today, but not as bad as yesteray. Thank goodness at least the area is isolated and seems now only one injuried.
Glad I bought gas this morning. So, when will we see $4.00 gallon gas; it always goes up when anything like this happens.
Tune into Shep on Fox later ... he will know every road and intersection in this rural county that is roadblocked and which FM to take to avoid the tractor congestion.
I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but “multiple exposions” makes me think immediately of multiple charges, which would be the technique used to cut the pipeline.
I was thinking the same thing and if that is the case, it was Bush who ordered it be done, so he can blame the Democrats. sarc.
Big/familiar city in Hidalgo cnty is...?
Who owns/operates the line?
McAllen
I don’t know about the gas line.
Both reports do mention explosions...plural. But OTOH, I suppose one to easily trigger another.
??
Better immediately raise the price at the pump to $4 a gallon. Just in case and all.
