The Global Poverty Act just passed. It was number 4 on the list of things to do today, on Valentine's Day. My heart to you. It is sponsored by Barack Obama. Now, yesterday so you know, Barack Obama said, and I quote, it's time to stop spending billions of dollars a week trying to put Iraq back together and start spending the money on putting America back together. Got it?

...it already has passed the House mainly because people didn't read it. If it passes now in the Senate, it will commit the United States to spending .7% of our gross national product on foreign aid, which will amount to a phenomenal $845 billion over what we already spend on foreign aid. But here's the great thing. It doesn't commit it to -- we're not committing to ourselves. We're committing to the United Nations... Does that mean the United Nations will suddenly fight Islamic extremism with us! No. No, why would that -- uh-uh. That's just diversity. "Also we would ratify the convention on the rights of a child."

He has his supporters right here on this conservative forum.

nagging voice: "do you really want to get into that?

There are members of the Cult of Barry on FR?
Yes, but his supporters don’t really know anything about him, just that he speaks to their desires about hope for the future.
Luckily this move has been halted by the GOP members for the moment. It was indeed rushed through the Senate by the likes of Joe Biden.
Un-frigging-believeable!!!!!!!!!
Come join the magical mystery tour to Obamri-La.
Where there is hope and change and unity and no designated hitter and a college football playoff system and FREE BEER ON FRIDAYS.
Yea, Rush nailed it
So, correct me if I’m wrong here and have misunderstood, but, this money goes to the United Nations?
That’s worse than flushing it down a toilet, in my estimation. Let’s just give billions of dollars to a totally corrupt organization with Zero oversight, yeah.
Gads!
I have actually listened to Barry’s saccharine speeches. I always get a toothache. He slips some of his ideas in between the generous servings of the “hope and change” mantra. His economic ideas can be stated thus: if you are middle class or above, then you are a class enemy - BOHICA.
In the face of change, he believes in hope. In the face of hope, he believes in change. How could you possibly not support a man like this?

“...this money goes to the United Nations?”

Yep. And you’re correct in saying it would be exactly like flushing it down the toilet.
Senator Obama is a Socialist pretending to be a Democrat.
He is looking forward to build a bridge to the future for the hope of change.
Once a Marxist, always a Marxist
IMHO
Lets spent the money in Botswana!
Iraq doesn't need freedom or prosperity or peace. Surely those things would be of no national interest to the USA. I hear Dafur has issues... Let's earmark some funds for Dafur /s
Ah, the U.N. “global tax” to be brought into being by the 12th Imam.
Wow, deja vu all over again.
Oblama di, Oblama da, oh life goes on.
I just have to say, Ono.

Well, it’s possible, at least when one does research on candidates and doesn’t just listen to their speeches.
This Senator Obama killed a bill in the Illinois legislature that would have made it illegal to murder a child born alive as the result of an abortion. He chaired the committee it was referred to and he killed that bill - dead! - by having the committee vote on it. The vote was 4 to 6 against, and Obama voted to kill the bill.
He wants to redistribute income, gut the military, abolish our nuclear arsenal, reinstate the Fairness Doctrine (Hush Rush Legislation) and tax/spend, tax/spend, and then tax/spend a lot more.
No. Hillary is a Socialist. Barak is a Marxist
