Way overboard with this comment. Many of us were raised in good liberal households and sent to the finest Marxists schools - one of the professors at my old university was I.F. Stone, and in my youth I took part in antinuclear die-ins.

I learned a lot. I grew up. My primary lesson from all those years of ideology training was an utter revulsion for leftist thinking. Consider my upbrining a softer, more affluent version of what a young man might have gone through living in the Soviet Union. I’ve seen the Left up close and personal. I know them right down to their core, which is disturbing and Kafkaesque.

One of the reasons I am so vocally conservative - and act that way in my private and public lives - is that I was raised to be a good little progressive. I had good fortune, a little intelligence, and the opportunity afforded by living in liberty to see through the hazy insanity of the Left.

You should read a little David Horowitz, who is 100 times smarter than me, but apparently shared a similar childhood.
