This is a question to all you freepers (the last 2-4) years I have really notices that there is ~NOT~ balance in the search results I have recieved from googe + yahoo. In fact if you look for alternate search engines from those websites they don't lead you anywhere either..
I am SO Sick of the liberal bias- I never used to get unbalanced results from these website engines. Please IF anyone knows about any good alternate search engines: Please tell me!! I am trapped..!

www.dogpile.com combines several together.

I use Alta Vista. Created by FReeper Holger Dansk.

Google works fine. You just need to refine and redefine your search terms until whatever it is you are looking for pops up.

Conservatives could restore balance to the search engines but we have jobs and can’t sit in our parents’ basement all day pumping up hits on conservative sites.

I use Alta Vista as my major search engine. It's very fast and navigation is very good.

He died on March 16, 2006. His last post was March 16, 2006. Yep! If it was your last day, wouldn't you like to make one last post here too? ;-)
To: papasmurf
I think his wife’s last name is Ukrainian. He was brilliant.

I have been working on my own project which will resolve that problem. IT IS NOT A SEARCH ENGINE. Is is a set of tools which if used correctly by the producers and users, would guarantee unbiased but accurate "search" results for whatever you were seeking on the internet. It's meant as a set of tools for news, information, commentaries and editorials, and would also direct users to discussions pertinent to whatever articles they got hits on.
Here's a small narrative of what I'm proposing that the system will do:
What and How...
A categorized cross-reference for:
* News Articles
* Columnists
* Editorials and Commentaries
* Informational Articles
* Discussions
Articles may be searched by:
* Categories & Sub-Categories (up to 4 levels)
* Subjects covered within article
* Authors / Columnists
* Publishers
* Publisher Types (Newspapers, Magazines, TV, Radio, etc.)
* Dates or Date Ranges
* Geographical Location pertinent to the article
* Any Combination(s) of any or all of the above
The system serves as a cross-reference to the actual articles. The articles do no exist on this system. However, this system contains enough information from the articles for the user to make an informed and intelligent decision about whether the article(s) warrants further reading and/or investigation.
Once the user enters the criteria for a search of the articles, the system presents a list or menu of available articles for that criteria. Furthermore, the user may click on any article on the available articles menu to get an "Excerpt" from the article. The Excerpt is presented on the rightmost side of the "Search Articles" page.
In addition, a user may enter into a discussion for an article if one is available and the author or columnist has made that discussion page available through a link in the Excerpt page.
Most of the system is written and it can do all of what the narrative states.
I may need some help later during implementation and in the web site setup. The database has the potential of growing into one of the largest in the internet.
I'll be glad to take suggestions and questions.

Never thought of it like that.
I will say that I enjoy being here, and I can see from his posts, he did as well. In that light, yeah, I guess I would rather go out doing something I liked so much, at a place I enjoyed so much.
But, I’d want to know it, at the time. That’s just me, I’m a bit weird I guess. I feel dying is the last human, earthly, experience we have, and I want to be there for it, fully cognizant of it, and drink in every last detail of it.
