Huckabee knows and has known that he will not reach the 1,191 delegates needed. He has stated his goal is to keep McCain from getting the desired number and have the nominee chosen at convention. If it ends up being McCain, so be it. But if there is a chance for Romney or someone else to stop McCain I would like to see that!

I went from Hunter to Thompson to Romney. And I do favor Huckabee over McCain. I will still vote for the Republican nominee in November, no matter who it is.

Even if Huckabee can’t get the 1,191 delegates before the convention, that doesn’t entitle McCain to get them and cheat the rest of the states from having a voice in the matter. If the majority of Republicans in other states do not want McCain, they should get a chance to say that so long as McCain is short of 1,191. That is their right. Look at Kansas. It couldn’t be more clear that the voters in Kansas don’t want the nominee to be McCain. Virginia disagrees. Fine. But lets let other states have a say. McCain’s win won’t be legitimate unless the voters give him the win, not the strategists.

So if they go to the convention and McCain has far more delegates, how would someone else be proclaimed?
