Road Trip: New London Submarine Base

Naval Submarine Base New London is the Navy's first Submarine Base and the "Home of the Submarine Force."

The main base occupies more than 687 acres. It is also home to more than 530 acres of family housing, 17 attack submarines, and the Navy's nuclear research deep submersible NR-1.

Yep, then Sat was OK until 8pm when I had to take my Dad to the Emergency room and we were there until 2am Sun. Fever of 103.1, weak as a baby, not lucid; as an 81 year old you take of those things quick. He’s OK now Flu and drug cocktail prescribed by Urgent care earlier that day fore it were contra-indicated.

How was traffic? Got your groceries in? I was going to stop at the store tonight, but I have to drop a check at the post office. I’m NOT doubling back around to hit the store. Wednesday will do. Driving should be interesting.

I didn’t know anything about this sub base. Thanks for your hard work!

Not having any Navy guys in my family, I hardly ever
hear about what goes on in that branch of the service.
