Tomorrow is, of course, primary day in Virgina.
The question is -- how can I get the biggest effect with my primary vote, on shaping the November election?
A protest vote against McCain, i.e., for Huckabee? Sorry, can't pull the lever for the Huckster. Just can't do it -- as George Bush 41 would say, "not gonna do it".
A protest vote for Romney? Maybe, and that's my initial impulse, but it's not clear what I buy for that.
Crossing over and voting for Obama? That's my inclination. I'm worried about the effect, one that'e been cited by many (I read it again today in the latest Susan Estrich column) about the "gap" between Obams's polling numbers (even the exit polls) versus the final reality of the private voting booth results, which get spun as "Hillary comebacks". As my father would say, "Comebacks my arse."
The polling gap is telling anyone that wants to notice that "some democrats are uncomfortable about race", and are lying about it even as they leave the polls, and while that's no surprise to conservatives, it's an especially worrisome factor right now.
We've heard all the talk about who, between Hillary and Obama, is the more formidable candidate against the repubs, but I take that all for idle chatter. One elementary fact I can say for certain, one thing that I know -- -- is that I cannot BEAR the thought of either Clinton in the White House again. So I'm going to break with Ann Coulter on this one -- for me it's visceral.
So -- my intent is to vote democratic tomorrow, and pull the lever for Barack. Remember the old Steve Martin bit. “Steve, how are you sooo funny?” His response - “I put baloney in my shoes, and then I feel funny! Perhaps I'll get the baloney out before I head to the polls. I know I'll get a funny look from the registrar of voters, who'se a personal friend of mine. I'll give her a wink as she says "oh my!"
and how much have Pelosi and Reid actually done? They can’t even get 35$ billion s-chip through Bush, even though they could hold the Iraq money hostage
You still give Obama momentum going into November.
I think voting Obama is the worst thing you can do.
I understand voting for a more conservative candidate in the primary. That sends a message that you want someone more conservative.
However, voting for Obama gives him more steam. It looks like he can win. He is very scary. The young people love him (and they don’t know about him).
Not really. Obama is just a younger generation hippie in a nice suit.
I'm not saying don't vote, I'm suggesting you stay out of the Democrat's arguments and vote in the Republican primary. Write in a candidate if you have to, but don't try to play in a game where losing is the only option.

Since the Reps have made it impossible to win against any Dem candidate, the fall back position must be to stick the stake in Hillary in the Primaries. I've said many, many times here, anybody, AND I MEAN ANYBODY, but another Clinton in the WH.
Another Virginia Freeper here, and tomorrow I’ll be voting for someone who’s name begins with an “H”.
I want Huckabee to beat McCain and win the election, and I think Hillary would be more beatable than Obama.
I was planning on voting my conscience for Huckabee (since Fred and Mitt are out) but I think my vote would have more impact for Hillary against Obama.
McCain is polling 28 points above Huckabee in Virginia, I’m not sure I could make any difference there. I’m undecided, which H tomorrow?
I heard that about the Democrat primary but not about the Republican. I imagine McCain will win PA but who knows at this point. Rendell has already endorsed Clinton, as you know.
I don’t like the idea of the other side sabotaging primaries. I don’t like it when the ‘Rats do it to us, and I’m not comfortable doing it to them.
Call me old fashioned, but I believe the primary is a party function, designed for party members to choose their nominee.

It’s not like we really have a choice in candidates.
McCain just says what Clinton and Obama will be forced to do sooner or later, with regards to the WOT.
I say vote for Ron Paul. All things considered, he’s no crazier than the rest!
1. Hillary: blue collar whites, elderly white women of all classes, hispanics.
2. Obama: Blacks of all classes, whites with college degrees or better, all whites under 35.
I know that VA doesn't have alot of union member/"townie" types or Hispanic voters, but does have a large population of blacks and "latte liberals" in the North. Advantage: Obama.

So I ask you the question -- is voting for Obama in the primary the same as "supporting" him? You can argue that a couple of ways. In any event, I take Susan Eisenhower at her word, that she's truly flipped to the Dems. Don't confuse my position with hers, though.
I'm talking about making the best strategic choice AGAINST the dems, and also a visceral vote AGAINST Hillary, if nothing else.
No Dem will get my REAL vote in November.

I have a viseral hatred for any and all members of the UnAmerican Democrat Party, and those who work with them and their propaganda media in any way.
Including John McCain.
Why the heck would anyone who considers themselves to be conservative pull the lever for either of the Democrat candidates? Just because of a personal hatred for Hillary? Seems a silly reason to vote for anyone, but hey, it’s your vote.
I nearly voted for him in NJ last week. Had I known Mitt was going to throw in the towel so early I would have voted for Obama. As far Obama being harder to beat in November goes, Im not convinced of that. He is so far to the left and so many people have issues with his background I feel there is a huge force out there who will come out to vote against him. For everyone who hasnt voted in years who will vote FOR him there will be just as many if not more who will come AGAINST him.

No, as bad as Obama is and as incompetent he would be he still wouldn't give missile tech to the Chicoms for campaign money or burn down a compound filled with children.
But even if he is the Dem nominee, I'm voting for McCain.
