Virginia Freeper Voting for Obama - Tomorrow
self | 02-11-08 | WL-Law

Posted on 02/11/2008 7:13:26 AM PST by WL-law

Tomorrow is, of course, primary day in Virgina.

The question is -- how can I get the biggest effect with my primary vote, on shaping the November election?

A protest vote against McCain, i.e., for Huckabee? Sorry, can't pull the lever for the Huckster. Just can't do it -- as George Bush 41 would say, "not gonna do it".

A protest vote for Romney? Maybe, and that's my initial impulse, but it's not clear what I buy for that.

Crossing over and voting for Obama? That's my inclination. I'm worried about the effect, one that'e been cited by many (I read it again today in the latest Susan Estrich column) about the "gap" between Obams's polling numbers (even the exit polls) versus the final reality of the private voting booth results, which get spun as "Hillary comebacks". As my father would say, "Comebacks my arse."

The polling gap is telling anyone that wants to notice that "some democrats are uncomfortable about race", and are lying about it even as they leave the polls, and while that's no surprise to conservatives, it's an especially worrisome factor right now.

We've heard all the talk about who, between Hillary and Obama, is the more formidable candidate against the repubs, but I take that all for idle chatter. One elementary fact I can say for certain, one thing that I know -- -- is that I cannot BEAR the thought of either Clinton in the White House again. So I'm going to break with Ann Coulter on this one -- for me it's visceral.

So -- my intent is to vote democratic tomorrow, and pull the lever for Barack. Remember the old Steve Martin bit. “Steve, how are you sooo funny?” His response - “I put baloney in my shoes, and then I feel funny! Perhaps I'll get the baloney out before I head to the polls. I know I'll get a funny look from the registrar of voters, who'se a personal friend of mine. I'll give her a wink as she says "oh my!"

What I’m really saying is I’m sick and tired of the whole bunch of losers. It’s time for change.

You are right. Absolutely. Voting for the lesser of the two evils is not exciting and not the way it was meant to be. Yes, we are headng for dark days and we have begun that process already. I DO have faith though that all will be OK. I really do.

Anyone want to talk me out of it?

Don't do it but if you do get rid of all the mirrors and quit shaving.

I would think that the thing to do would be to write in a conservative dim like Joe Lieberman.

In that way, you hurt both the socialist dim and the socialist rino.

"It's time for a change"..

Well yeah, that's what Obama's campaign slogan is all about.

I think we should nominate two people we need to be rid of next time around, since we aren't going to win this election anyway. So let's pick McCain/Huckabee and be done with them.

Obama is going to win. We'll deal with him next election with some better candidates.

The good news is...it's "Bye, bye Hillary!"

“Also regarding Kaine — I still believe that we (repubs) would have won if we hadn’t picked a candidate who sounded like Gomer Pyle.”

You must not be a native Virginian.

It’s exactly what I’d do.

For me, the bottom line is... there’s nothing we can do to stop McCain. If there’s ANYTHING we can do to stop Hillary, it’s worth a shot.

Some people believe Hillary would be the weaker candidate against McCain. I disagree - I think Hillary, Obama, or anyone else the RATS put up there is going to CREAM McCain. The only solace I can have this election, then, is the pleasure of keeping the Clintons out of The White House.

Go for it!

Do some research on Obama. He shouldn't be in the Senate, let alone the White House.

The fact that he is so likable makes him that much more dangerous...

“I have only voted for one Democrat in my entire life, and that was when I was a young, idealistic, and a stupid college student and I didn’t know any better. You guessed it...Jimmy Carter!”

Funny isn’t it, that the youth vote is what’s driving Obamas rise. I wonder how many of his devoted supporters will eventually end up as conservatives, and I wonder how much that will be sped up should he win the Oval Office.

I might do the same in Washington state....

on a related note, I've heard and read email about 'bama NOT doing the pledge of allegiance and NOT putting his hand on a bible when he was sworn in...that he used a Koran and he is secretly a Muslim....does anybody have any pics of either of those occassion?.

...people don't recognize that he IS a socialist too.

The role model of people working on Obama's campaign:

Che Guevara Flags in Obama's Houston Office

And they don't even bother to hide it!

Vote for Obama? Pffft. I rather go waterboarding.

Should Clinton lose to Obama I would expect her machine to go after him with full force. And should he get the prez...the assault will continue. Conservatives can re-group with proper leadership...come back in 2010 and big time in 2012. The Clintons will destroy the Obamas faster than the existing republicans will. Let them fight while we re supply.

I think the story about not using a Bible for swearing in is false. Check this
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/238/

The pledge of allegiance story is apparently not true too. Obama claims the picture of him was during the “Star Spangled Banner” song. Check this
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/11/obama-says-flag.html

Snopes has some interesting information on this as well

My main concern is for any conservative congresscritters you would not be able to vote for.

What about your congress critters? With the closeness of the dim primary, I don’t expect there to be as many cross-over voters in our primary. If you live in an area that will support the conservative congresscritters, it will not matter as much. I just don’t want ‘dim’ stamped next to my name in the county book.

I hope we do not lose any congresscritters with that line of thinking. I will vote for Cornyn, and my local rep, - just not mccainniac or the huckster.
