Virginia Freeper Voting for Obama - Tomorrow
self | 02-11-08 | WL-Law

Posted on 02/11/2008 7:13:26 AM PST by WL-law

Tomorrow is, of course, primary day in Virgina.

The question is -- how can I get the biggest effect with my primary vote, on shaping the November election?

A protest vote against McCain, i.e., for Huckabee? Sorry, can't pull the lever for the Huckster. Just can't do it -- as George Bush 41 would say, "not gonna do it".

A protest vote for Romney? Maybe, and that's my initial impulse, but it's not clear what I buy for that.

Crossing over and voting for Obama? That's my inclination. I'm worried about the effect, one that'e been cited by many (I read it again today in the latest Susan Estrich column) about the "gap" between Obams's polling numbers (even the exit polls) versus the final reality of the private voting booth results, which get spun as "Hillary comebacks". As my father would say, "Comebacks my arse."

The polling gap is telling anyone that wants to notice that "some democrats are uncomfortable about race", and are lying about it even as they leave the polls, and while that's no surprise to conservatives, it's an especially worrisome factor right now.

We've heard all the talk about who, between Hillary and Obama, is the more formidable candidate against the repubs, but I take that all for idle chatter. One elementary fact I can say for certain, one thing that I know -- -- is that I cannot BEAR the thought of either Clinton in the White House again. So I'm going to break with Ann Coulter on this one -- for me it's visceral.

So -- my intent is to vote democratic tomorrow, and pull the lever for Barack. Remember the old Steve Martin bit. “Steve, how are you sooo funny?” His response - “I put baloney in my shoes, and then I feel funny! Perhaps I'll get the baloney out before I head to the polls. I know I'll get a funny look from the registrar of voters, who'se a personal friend of mine. I'll give her a wink as she says "oh my!"

Hillary is a wolf in wolf’s clothing. Obama is a wolf in lamb’s clothing.

Which is more dangerous? Exactly, which is why every Republican in the greater Potomac area should vote for Hillary tomorrow.

I agree 100 per cent (except I'd vote for a Republican, NOT a Democrat!)

AND THE FACT HILLLEREEE IS SO UNLIKEABLE AND DOESN’T GIVE A DAMN MAKES HER EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. OBAMA NEEDS TO DEFEAT HER AND DEFEAT HER NOW!!!

OK, I get it. You hate Hillery. Vote Barack Hussein Obama if it makes you feel better!)

WL-law, my daughter also voted for Barak as a vote AGAINST Hillary. Reading this thread, isn’t it interesting how we are all justifying our voting? Is Barak really winning so big or is Hillary just losing...do the conservatives not have anyone to vote for so we are messing with the dem’s...I think the primaries are a lot different than the real race will be. I myself fear the power of the beast and her far reaching machine more than I fear Barak.

Huh? I would advise that you vote for the thoroughly unelectable Hillary.
Why give that oily scumbag Obama any encouragement?

You should not do anything to help Obama. Right now he is ahead

That is incorrect. Hillary is ahead in the delegate count 1,136 to Obama's 1,108.

you miss the point. You don’t get it at all. I want Obama to beat hilllereee for the dem nomination. Yes, I want him to beat hilllereee for the dem nomination. I won’t feel good voting for anyone this time around. Will you?

Yes, I want him to beat hilllereee for the dem nomination.

Actually, I do get it. Of the two, you dislike Hillery more. I can accept that. Barack Hussein Obama is much more dangerous, but I understand the immense dislike for Hillery. The fact that Barack Hussein Obama IS so likable, is exactly what has me so concerned.

I won’t feel good voting for anyone this time around. Will you?

No I won't. I know I won't vote for either Democrat. If McCain gets the nomination, I will most likely look for a Third Party conservative candidate to vote for!

I will vote for conservatives for Congress and Senate...IF there are any on the ballot!

I was considering voting for a Dem in the TX primary for the candidate I thought would cause the most turmoil. Now, I’m leaning towards Hucklebee. Also, there are some good up and coming conservatives running for the 1st time, so I want a Republican ballot.

cubreporter...LOOK at what you just wrote. Do you notice anything? From your own post, we all KNOW that Hillery IS a socialist!!! What about Obama? A wolf in sheep's clothing...a man that is even LEFT of Hillery, but he appears as a lamb...people don't recognize that he IS a socialist too.
He also belongs to an extremist Black separatist church which has ties to islam!. I am not trying to change your mind,I'm just saying Barrack hussein obama is MORE dangerous because so many don't even recognize him as the enemy!

If you have to take one ballot or the other, I would definitely take the Republican ballot and vote for the most conservative Republicans running in the state elections. I believe this is a better use of your vote. I plan to vote for Hucklebee in the TX primary. We have some new up and coming conservatives that I’d like to see win a chance to run in the General Election.

They may both be dangerous but I do not now or ever want to see a clintin near the white house again. That means that OBAMA MUST BEAT HER. If hilllereee gets the nomination it is trouble. If Obama as you say gets it it is trouble too. Well, given how awful clintin is...then I would prefer to see OBAMA win the DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION. I’m not trying to be difficult...I just want Obama to hit it out of the ballpark with hilllereee. We do not want her or her old man anywhere near the front door of the White House ever again. They ARE NOT WORTHY!!!

I say go for it.

Reps:

McCain doesn’t believe in the 1st Ammendment, borders, or winning the WOT. His global warming ideas will cost us more than anything Hill or Barry has proposed.

Huckabee is a Theocrat. He scares me the most.

Dems:

Last time I checked, there’s no such thing as Illinoicide. Obama hasn’t left a body trail.

We’re going to lose this election anyways unless the Dem party erupts in a major civil war (which is possible). A Hillary defeat is worth it to me.

Actually, we are on the same page.

Neither of us want hilllereee! However, Obama in the same party is the only one who can knock it out of the ballpark.

I will no doubt vote write in...not sure yet. It’s a terrible way to enter into a voting booth. The pubbies haven’t done us any favors over the years and they just sat on their big fat tushes while the world went by and now look where that has gotten us. They should have had someone in the wings...someone that had been groomed for this day coming. Shame on them. I have NEVER been in this quandry before in my entire voting life.

Yes, The Republican Party is a huge disappointment. The day McCain gets the nomination is the day I withdraw from the Republican Party. McCain is not a liberal Republican, he is a moderate to liberal DeomcRAT!

Agree with you 110%. Sad to say that isn’t it but...it is the truth. The Republican party is not what it was. It is not conservative. To me they are all selfish people who make too much money, have too many benefits the rest of us don’t have, think they are all that and have their own selfish agendas. They think they are above the crowd and seem to forget who put them there. Democrats too. They all think they are special and doing us a favor when it reality it is US who do them all a favor. Personally, I think the whole way of having reps in DC should be changed. Also the voting methods too. Forget primaries. Just let people go out and vote. X amount of $$$ for every candidate and if they can’t be creative enough to find ways to sell them selves then that’s their problem. Too much $$$$ has corrupted the whole system. I’m not impressed with any of them and if I passed one on a street I would keep walking. They are not worth my time, money or effort.

Both parties are moving further and further left, and as long as we keep voting for the "lesser" evil, nothing will change. We do need to vote the conservatives in the Congress and Senate, but I don't think I can vote for McCain to be my representative.

This Country is heading for some very dark days...

What you're really arguing for is TERM LIMITS, as a limit on the politico class. Unfortunately, one of the disasters of McCain-Feingold is that, in addition to favoring the media over the people, it implicitly favors incumbents over challengers.

So McCain pulled a two-fer assault on the Republican party with his "signature" legislation.

As long as you are willing to live for 4-8 years under an Obama administration without complaining, go for it.

Just understand that it is a distinct possibility that he will win in November if he is the Democrat’s candidate.
