Lol.. You’re saying this on a forum where people regularly ask prayers of complete strangers for the health and safety of their relatives, loved ones, and even casual acquaintances.
I see nothing wrong with any of the above, but you shouldn’t be surprised, is all I’m saying.
The man was politically antithetical to most Freepers, and many of us still wish his family condolences, prayers, etc. I’m an atheist, and I think that’s moving, and something to look up to. Maybe I’m just soft :).

Congrats to a fellow survivor — I too am an “alum” of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Going on 5 1/2 years since my last surgery...... Cheers!

I lived in that district for many years. I miss the beauty of the area but not the political landscape. Didn’t Tom Lantos succeed Leo Ryan the Congressman that was killed in Jonestown?

A pro-abortion Holocaust survivor??? How could he possible reconcile that in his mind?

I guess John McCain would have to die to have anything nice said about him here.

Conrad Janis died yesterday, too.Oh no! I hadn't heard that.I knew Connie some years ago and counted him as a friend.
He used to jam with Balaban and Katz,a Dixieland group led by Leonard "Red" Balaban. Connie usually showed up with "Wild Bill" Davidson and his wife. This was in the NYC-North Jersey area back in the late 60's, early 70's.
He was a great guy.

RIP. Prayers for his family.

Why?
I have always believed that if you acted like a jerk in life, than why would one say otherwise when you passed on?
To: managusta
He was a great friend of animals.

Im a 14 year survivor of esophogeal cancer... very lucky to have found it early (at age 46) by a very good internist and then quickly referred to the best surgeon in the world at Sloan Kettering. 10 days elapsed from the time my tumor was discovered/determined and when it was removed. If I was living in Canada... well, Id hate to consider the result. Early detection before metastasis is the key...
I had my form (testicular - but I have a spare) treated by surgery - followed by yearly cat scans. I wonder if it is rates or detection which is going up.

Holocaust survivors should be respected in the same way we respect POWs from Viet Nam. They have proven their strength. Remember professor Librescu who sacrificed himself to save his students at Virginia Tech? RIP Lantos. Despite his political beliefs/actions, the first thing that came to mind when I saw this headline that he has died was the image of him when the Code Pink moonbat attacked Condi at a hearing a few months ago. Virtually EVERYONE else just froze dumbly in shock for a few moments before reacting, but Lantos unhesitatingly grabbed the loon's arm. As frail as he was, he just instinctively tried to intervene. I gained some respect for Lantos that day.
Condolences to his family.
