Texas will hold its primary on March 4, 2008. People do not register as members of political parties in Texas, so on March 4th, anybody who is registered to vote, can vote for Obama. See http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/primary.shtml. With McCain already the Republican nominee effectively, why not have those who lean Republican all vote for Obama to help destroy Hillary's candidacy?
Texas will send delegates to the Democrat convention. 126 of those will be chosen in the 31 separate primaries on March 4, 2007 divided by state Senate districts. See http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/2/8/17340/43669. Republicans can help Obama get many of these 126.
Another 67 delegates will be based on the results of caucuses. Those who lean Republican and voted for Obama may be able to attend the caucuses. But I am not sure.
As I see it, better to have Obama defeat her rather than risk her becoming President in a battle with McCain.
Yes, it is.
You know, call me a rebel [sarc intended]... but, no one now or at anytime will tell me how or who to vote for. Period.
Me too.. or who NOT to vote for ;)
I don't know how anyone who is paying attention, can't see the huge threat
Barack Hussein Obama is to this Country.
He is treated like the "saviour" of the Democrat Party, and he has energized them in a way that they have probably NEVER been before.
The truth about his church and his religion won't even be allowed to be exposed. It will be discarded as personal attacks and hate speech.
Don't fool yourselves...this man will bring America down!
Hillary lost the Hispanic vote in both Colorado and Illinois.
it’s also a lot harder to attack a lady even if hillary aint no lady
Daniel Pipes has the experience to find the truth and wrote about it (behind the following link). Obama is a Christian—not a Muslim.
Was Barack Obama a Muslim?

I do not want Obama to be our president, because he’s too much of a socialist and too inexperienced in defense. But Muslims consider him to be an apostate and will hate him.
The worst that could happen against our Nation’s defense would be for us to allow Hillary to be our president.
I’d love to vote for Obama to ruin Hillary’s chances, but I think she is far more easier for McCain to beat than Obama.
I have considered this, and more than likely will reject this course of action. First, it means giving up voting for the downstream republicans, and any republicans that might wind up in run-off elections. Second, and more important, I don't necessarily agree that a obomination presidency would be preferable to a hildabeast presidency. And third, I believe that the beast might be easier to beat than the the great black hope on the white stallion or whatever those lunes see him as.
Please repost when you wake up.
The best scenario by far, IMHO, is for Obama to win the majority of normal delegates, but have Hillary take the nomination with her "Superdelegates". That's the only recipe I can see to discourage Democrat turnout in the down-ticket races.
A relative did and gave me a blow by blow. Interesting. In this caucus is was almost exclusively - he can win, she can’t.
I live in a blue, blue city/state, Seattle, WA.
I am forced to talk to dems all the time [unless I want to talk to like maybe 2 or 3 people a day [on a good day].]
They are already really scared he will be another Jimmy Carter. They are afraid if he is and he gets elected it will take them another 20 years to retake the WH. They are really afraid of this, these are their words.
That is the reason and the only reason some of them are going for hillary, so if Obama can win the nomination, many, many of them across the country will end up voting for McCain, 'cause they think it would be better to let him have 4 years than lose the WH for 20 yrs.
The unadulterated gall of it blows my mind.

Yes, that is what we have been reduced to. A failure of GOP strategy and Primary machinations as well as a lack of conservative leadership and devisiveness.
Thank you top 2 toe red! I must say, it is VERY refreshing to have someone here be respectful when they disagree!
It really is funny how people can look at the same picture, and see two very different things!
I will admit, I'm biased from the start, because islam scares me a whole lot more than the Clintons ever could.
I guess we can't know for sure until it happens, but it seems to me, Hillery's negatives are much higher than Obama's, and it will be difficult to campaign against him because the "bigot" "racist" accusations will be thrown in our face.
I live near a very liberal college town (Boulder) and Obama is God's gift to the world as far as all the young people here are concerned.
Any way, thanks for your opinion...like adults, we can agree to disagree. ;o)
I just want to make sure FReepers are aware of his ties to islam BEFORE they vote for him!
Don’t make the mistake of concentrating on one candidate. Also, they read everything we say and use it against us and well.
Don’t have to go after her personally. Her negs are so high as it is. 50% of people said they would not vote for her no matter what. No president has ever been elected with that high of a negative rating. She’s friggin cancer.
