I think we should challenge the upcoming election before it ever happens. If we’re lucky, it and all of the candidates will be thrown out, and we can all start over from “GO” and maybe come up with SOMEBODY who can run the country.

Does the Huckabee campaign actually not know how the Washington State Caucus and Convention process work?

Absolutely NO official ballots were cast for ANY presidential candidate.

The so-called “results” that are being reported are the VOLUNTARY reported leanings of the delegates that were elected to their respective County Conventions.

It is un-official, not guaranteed and only for the purposes of getting a “feel” of the presidential “leanings” of delegates.

No delegates will be assigned to the National Convention (or a candidate) until the State Convention in May.

The Delegates (to the County Conventions) that were elected yesterday ARE official WHEN they ALL have passed through each Counties Credentials Committee. They ARE NOT presidential delegates and can change their mind, not show up or not get elected to the State Convention.

I think Huckabee is mad because his grassroots did not turn out enough folks to elect Huckabee leaning delegates to the County Convention.

BTW - no County was REQUIRED to report their Delegate Presidential Preference to the State Party. There is NO rule in the Party by-laws and some may choose NOT to report.

If this were Hillary Clinton and George Washington, and they called the election before they finished counting the votes and just announced that Washington won, I would support Clinton in demanding that all votes be counted.

And so would Washington. And Jefferson. And Adams. And Reagan. etc.

The fact is that McCain is the presumptive nominee and the math is against him, and yet he is still succeeding making McCain and the so-called party establish ment look like the impotent fools that they are.

There are opportunities out there, macaca moments, that Huckabee, by remaining at the table, can capitalize on. Even the appearance of shenanigans in Wash. creates the perception that the deck is stacked in favor of McCain, but also creates a story that keeps Huck's name in the news.

Stay in the race, Huck, you are doing your party and the country an invaluable service.

Supposedly it was McCain-Huckabee deal that screwed Romney in WV. Looks like Huckabee doesn’t like it happening to him ! (Too bad, what does around comes around Huckster!)

I noticed that Huckabee is behind delgates votes from Romney. This must be bugging him since Romney has pulled out. Is it possible that he just wants to at least beat Romney???

Come on, if Fred or Mitt had this happen to them, all of the kool aid drinking Freepers would be staging protests. I agree, why declare a winner when it is close and there are still votes left to count? Why not just work a little later and count ‘em up?

I was a Romney guy and because of the way Huckabee accosted Mitt by class warfare, disingenious "questions" about his religion, the WV deal I....in no way agree with what has transpired as reported (gotcha-thought I was gonna defend this, right)

Fair is fair and if I (and others) do not give fair treatment to those we oppose then we can never expect fair treatment applied to us.

I do not like Huckabee - he comes across as a dishonest televangelist and really told some whoppers (the "no negative ad" news conference being a low point) and find it amusing that he is at least portraying himself as going all the way to the convention but fair is fair.

I'm now going to investigate a little bit more.

The chairman showed very bad judgement in stopping the voting last night

That is sort of like one of the straw polls, in an SC city/district, IIRC.

When the counters decided to stop for the night, Hunter (IIRC) was significantly ahead of the pack. McCain was somewhere in the middle, behind one to two other contenders.

When the vote counting resumed the next morning, McCain managed to get allot of votes that propelled him to the head of the pack. He ended up winning by 1 or 2. Strangely, Hunter didn't get one new vote in that resumed count.

Huckabee IS right. Highly irregular and wrong to call before the count. Sounds like something a Dem would do. In fact, the last vote in WA for gov. was highly irregular. The only way to get rid of irregularities (read voter fraud) is to raise a big legal stink EVERY time.

None of this matters much right now. When martial law is declared BEFORE November 4th, what do you think will happen? Flowers and incense from Hope, Arkansas? Hang on to your wallets, folks. It’s gonna be a rough ride. Call me a weirdo, but don’t knock on my door looking for a handout.

The Huckster is getting his breeches in a wad because of ONE delegate?

If Huckabee had lost two primaries yesterday instead of win two primaries, one of which was by INCREDIBLE margin, maybe the biggest loss that has ever hit a presumptive nominee upside the head, then Huckabbee looks a whiner, whining about something which is absolutely meaningless, but the fact he has turned the tables making McCain look like such an impotent presumptive nominee that he is having to have the political establishment play tricks to come away with a win and save a little face by not being on the wrong end of a shutout.
