Fox News Exclusive: Huckabee Campaign Calls for “Full Investigation” into Washington State Results

Fox News has learned that the Huckabee campaign has called for a “full investigation” into the Washington State Caucus results, and are sending campaign lawyers to the state to help in that pursuit. Ed Rollins, Huckabee campaign chairman, directly challenged Washington State GOP Chairman Luke Essers move in anounncing that John McCain had won the tight race with only 87.2 percent of the votes counted.

” The chairman showed very bad judgement in stopping the voting last night when announcing John McCain had won, when there was less that a 200 vote margin between the two candidates,” Rollins told Fox in an exclusive interview.” You never announce a vote, in my 40 years of politics I have never know anybody to announce a vote count before the vote is counted.”

Huckabee is one smart politician. The fact is that McCain is the presumptive nominee and the math is against him, and yet he is still succeeding making McCain and the so-called party establish ment look like the impotent fools that they are. Huckabee has no cards or chips to stay at the table to walk away with all the stakes, but he is still at the table making the guy who has won big time look like the piker that he is, and like he is cheating to win penny ante pots that he doesn’t neeed.

That was just more underhanded weasel work from McCain’s camp.No laws were broken but the rules need to be changed-Gives people the impression that their votes are a commodity to be traded like wheat or crude oil.

Unfortunately after Hunter withdrew I have no horse in this race; however, I stand with “Just count the votes!”

Hunter was my guy too. When he gave his endorsement to Huckabee and the race boiled down to McCain / Huckabee, I decided to read up on Huckabee a bit. I've been impressed thus far. He's far more conservative than the media would have us believe. Personally, I'd rather have a liberal in office than to sit through four years of McCain; I won't vote for him. I believe I would, however, cast a vote for Huckabee based on what I've read so far.

Presumably if the vote outcome differs the results will be corrected. No big deal if all the votes had actually been cast before a victor was proclaimed.

“Hope that makes him happy because I will not lift a finger for Huckabee or offer one word of protest for however unfairly he is treated by either McCain”

Well, just remember what you said next time you’re treated unfairly, that’s all I’m saying.

“Darn there goes that vp slot
Huckabee is too smart a pol to accept a vp slot on a losing ticket”

I agree. McCain is a loser. There is no point in a true Conservative to vote for a loser ticket.

I am sick and tired of the GOP offering me only one choice in the general election. —voting for the lesser of two evils. I am committed to stop voting for EVIL!

Don’t you feel like a buffoon after supporting Fred as the true conservative only to see him support McCain .... again as he did in 2000?

I don’t, if he had endorsed the religious nut I would have felt like a buffoon. Gee, so many people on this forum have suggested that the hucksters election was an act of god. I would think god could win by enough votes that the huckster wouldn’t have been behind with 87% of the vote counted...

YOU AGAIN.....

What is so petty about counting all votes, especially when it’s so close?

I can’t stand Huckabee. At the same time- I don’t go to the polls just to get out of the house. I want my vote counted. If votes have not been counted and assumptions made based on exit polls or whatever- he’s right to ask questions.

Ditto ... I am truly amazed anyone on *this* board would feel otherwise no matter who the candidate is!

Would you like to be called a buffoon, if it was your votes being counted?

As a former Washington stater, who feels her vote wasn’t counted and that Gregoire stole the election, I say let Huck have his investigation. Those laid back Washingtonians are no strangers to political chicanery.

Luke “The Truth” Esser.

I remember him as the sports editor at the University of Washington Daily back in the 80s.

"For those of you who miss, Al Gore, he’s back!!!!!!!!"

Yes, but he's changed his name to RNC.

Every vote must count (except for the votes that don't)

"The chairman showed very bad judgement in stopping the voting last night when announcing John McCain had won, when there was less that a 200 vote margin between the two candidates,” Rollins told Fox in an exclusive interview."

This might be one of the few times I agree with Ed Rollins.

There are too many shenanigans occurring in this Republican primary.

Go get 'em, Huckster!

I understand there is a proportional system - 18 delegates at stake - McCain 5, Huckabee 4, Paul 4, Romney 3, uncommitted 2... Mitt only SUSPENDED his campain - still gets delegates.

The Huckster is getting his breeches in a wad because of ONE delegate?

Roll eyes time...

I thought caucuses didn’t count individual votes. So what’s the deal with “200 votes?”

Anyway, stopping the counting w/ a 200 vote difference sounds pretty shady to me, and believe you me, I’m no supporter of the Huckster.
