Primary Voters: Vote against McCain! Vote for deadlock! Vote anyone but McCain!

Folks, there still may be a slim chance to force a deadlocked convention. I'm no election math wizard, but I believe it's still mathematically possible for McCain to NOT receive the requisite number of delegates to win the nomination. But it would require a great turnout of passionate conservative voters in the remaining primary states to accomplish.

The trick would be for all remaining primary conservative voters to vote for their favorite candidate as if he were still in the race. Fred's name is still on the ballot. So is Hunter's and Romney's. Shoot, vote for Huckabee, Paul or even Giuliani if you wish. Anyone but McCain!

None of the others can possibly win, but it's still possible for McCain to lose. Let it go to the convention and force the GOP to publicly fight it out as if its very life depended on it. Because it does.

What do we have to lose? As it stands now, more and more conservatives are declaring their intentions to sit out the general. If McCain is our candidate, looks like Hillary/Obama will be our next president. Don't let it happen. Vote for any GOPer other than McCain!

He was a hell of a lot better candidate than Fred Thompson, that’s for sure. Fred was a complete waste of time, and that was pretty obvious to those with eyes to see. But Romney never caught hold either. And he’s mormon, so that means he’s hiding pointy little horns under his coiffe.

Once you get over the delusion that the republican party is conservative you can see reality. And, there were candidates who were conservative or at least on some issues...

They all lost. To me that says that the republican party is not as conservative as people like to think it is.

First of all, it is a gross mis-characterization of the principled fight that CONSERVATIVEs are putting up to save their party from a McCain presidency that would doom the GOP to be the minority party for decades to come, as well as, kill the reagan coalition in the GOP.

Secondly, the more you make such childish statements, you further deepen my resolve to make sure McCain looses.

Like I said, Huckabee was not my favorite. Fred was, and after he dropped out I voted for Romney on Jan 29th. If I were voting today or in the future primary race, I would vote for Huckabee over McCain. Know many folks plan on voting for their favorites who are already out of the race, but don’t think that does anything except help McCAin. Unless I am wrong in thinking that although votes for others would be counted, those still in the race who win over the other get the delegates. Do delegates go to someone who is out of the race if they happen to win a state?

You’re telling people to vote for candidates who have given up and already overtly or tacitly thrown their support to McCain already—Fred, Giuliani, Romney, whoever. What’s the point now? These folks’ votes would only be cast for McCain on the second ballot anyway.

This is why I asked you to choose a straw poll here on FR to have all Freepers use as a benchmark, to have us all line up behind someone conservative before primaries started. Too late for that now.

Of course, you and Rush and Ann and the rest of the what-do-we-do-now conservative media crowd can at least in the short term enjoy your sour grapes ratings and site traffic. I’m sure the audience numbers will climb as disenchanted conservatives go somewhere to vent, so rake in those higher management fees and donations while you can. When Hillary or Obama get in, they’ll reinstate the fairness doctrine and force you to subsidize DU.

This is not about "All or nothing". This is about a continuous process where the primary system is rigged to elevate Liberals in the party and splintering the conservative base so that just enough (about 35% this time) vote for the RINO.

The national political conventions are the pinnacle of energy and enthusiasm for a Party's nominee. The signs, balloons, confetti, the wild cheering and excitement help to 'fire up' the traditional base and other Party faithful for the fall campaign (for both parties).

Now I could be wrong here,,,but I just CANNOT imagine a wildly cheering, enthusiastic, energized and excited 'conservative base' cheering on the acceptance speech from John McCain. Heck, he might even get booed by some (unless the RNC closely screens the delegates closely).
