Which is very good for Huckabee. People will start looking at him in a different light. But it also illustrates the utter oblivion the MSM operates in at times. They think that McCain is just wonderful. Huckabee's success this weekend is going shake things up come tomorrow.
Oh, okay. 'Cause, you know, the McCain folks were admittin' bein' weak in "The South" so I was just wonderin' and bein' one of them Conservative Christians I don't really know much 'bout geography and all that...
NO I do not believe he does.
He has said this which I FULLY support!
“We have to explore, we have to conserve, and we have to pursue all avenues of alternative energy: nuclear, wind, solar, hydrogen, clean coal, biodiesel, and biomass”
Energy independence -—as soon as possible!!!
I did that in California and concluded:
81% of Republicans DID NOT vote for John McCain.
96% of Eligible Voters DID NOT vote for John McCain.
Is this winner take all?
You mean, "Ron Paul's conservatism mixed with willingness to spend like a drunken sailor and warmonger and be authoritarian to get votes" ;-)
You're right there. They wouldn't even take offers from volunteers to video election fraud, etc., and what I heard on phone bank calls let me know that 2004 was lost by Kerry, not won by Bush.
Of course they do, he's a liberal!
We could HAVE energy independence if they would let us drill in ANWR and offshore. Where does he stand on that?
Hank
Me neither. I'm not even too sure BC is part of the states, but you know, if Huckabee does well it has to be south of something. McCain is weak everywhere, not just the south. Huckabee was strongest in the the south because he is more known there, had time to campaign there, invested his pittance there. If he can expand, he'll do really good. And, hee hee, McCain will do really bad.
You are so right. Especially this. . . Freds record (as the most consistent conservative)Romney to give the speeches and Huckabee to handle the debates.
But the man who will be doing the speeches is unfortunately the absolute WORST one for the job. He can’t beat Obama. He puts America to sleep.
Mitt was the one to take America forward with energy and class. He could have whipped Obama on speaking as well as on issues
Doesn't mean a *&%*#$ thing. McCain has to come in second or lower for it to mean something. See my #268 and #301 for a way to make it happen.
In summary:
If you want to send a message, vote for whoever has a chance to beat McCain in your state, even someone you would not vote for otherwise.
I read an article recently that after all the negative publicity over the Keating five, McCain went out of his way to accomodate journalists. He would sit for hours and answer every possible question they had and he has retained this strategy for the last fifteen years. He has a very long, very close relationship with the MSM. They and McCain need to learn a little more about retail politics, the power of conservitism and the will of the people. A lot more.
As far as I know, Romney is still running, just not actively campaigning. Has that changed?
Yeah, my precinct went for Ron Paul, first, Huckabee second, led by a minister of the church where we were meeting. The kind of guy that didn’t like to be disagreed with.
Technically yes, he’s at a sort of “halfway” state between being in and not being in as far as campaign activity goes. It’s rather ambiguous, and I wonder how many may not support him because they think he’s out. For all intents and purposes, he is out.
If you want to send a message, vote for whoever has a the best chance to beat McCain in your state, even someone you would not vote for otherwise.
No. As to details, I'm the wrong person to ask... but this might help:
